Pfffff weeeeel I don't know. Maybe international affairs will have your thoughts on other things in MAY for example. Maybe it's going to be a really hot early spring. Don't know. Could be loads of reasons.
(PS don't make me come round your place and pash your head in with a trowel)
Here's a link to infoSync's Z1010 preview for those of you who, like me, missed it earlier. In terms of form-factor, I actually prefer it over both the T68i and the P800. As I continue to ponder my mobile phone choices, I find that I am favoring phone-style devices over PDA-style devices.
399 UKP is not cheap. But it could still be worth it. I wonder how much Apple's hypothetical iPhone would cost.

you're right -- 399 UK pounds is *not* cheap! its bloody expensive to use a 3G network which in the UK is only covering selected cities, and if you go out of range you get dropped down to a 'standard' connection...

At least you Britons have 3G networks. Here in the US GSM coverage is still woefully inadequate ouside "selected cities."
BTW: My brother-in-law is attending the congress in Cannes. I'll quiz him upon his return.

Well, here's what my brother-in-law had to say:
[quote]The Sony [Z1010] won't be available in the States for at least another year. I would wait a few months as there are several new GSM phones that are scheduled to be introduced the first half of this year in the U.S. for AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, and Cingular that will work in Europe and have Bluetooth... [T]he most advanced GSM phone with Bluetooth on the U.S. market, which is the Sony Ericsson T68i, is a little bit dated. (emphasis added)

My question is this: Do I get a free T68i now to get started? Or do I wait to get mobile with one of those new phones?
Sony Ericssson's official website only features a pictures embedded in a Flash page. So nobody has posted in-line images of the Z1010 yet. So I figured I'd do a Google search and post some images myself.
I love this phone. But since it won't be avvailable in the US for at least another year, I'll have to find some other device to tide me over.
I really wish the Z1010 would be headed to US shores much sooner... It's the exact combination of practical functionality and exciting geeky features that I am looking for in my next mobile phone.
Well, apart from the size - which I have major issues with - the Z1010 is an amazingly well-spec'ed phone.
I wouldn't hold your hopes up on it ever reaching the US, though ... I don't see 3G coverage being available in other than a couple of test-areas. There wouldn't be any justification for releasing it here.
Let's just see what SonyEricsson release tomorrow, though.

Yup. Waiting another day is bearable. But then I'll have to get moving and buy a mobile phone. At this point I'm just ready get with the action. Waiting will always get you newer better fancier tech-gizmos. But at a certain point the waiting reaches its limits! I'm close to having had enough.

I just can't believe it's already almost a year old and we still can't get it here in the US.

Well, it was shown a year ago, but just went on sale recently. I keep seeing the end of February for German availability.
Makes me wonder when we'll be able to get our mitts on the Z1010.

I just got a Samsung V205 which I like but I'd trade it in a second for that Sony Ericsson model!

According to New in the T610 thread, we'll see the first such phone tomorrow, Tuesday, March 4.

Notice the photo of it next to the P800.
The Z1010 is enormous.
