"Although Unreal Championship takes place in the same dark future as Unreal Tournament, it is not a sequel. Unreal Championship is a new chapter in the history of the Unreal Universe that is exclusive to Xbox."
A real sequel to Unreal Tournament is likely to be multiplatform.

Ahh, the classics. Tecmo Superbowl was the best RBI was great too! I use emulators to play them now ...
I just picked up a Dreamcast on Friday (after thinking about it for 4 days (I am poor) ).

Sounds like you like racing/driving games. Might check out F355 racing, my former roomate loved that on my dreamcast. Other killer games for Dreamcast inclucde Shenmue (rpg) and Soul Caliber (fighting). Like Fran said DOA2 is cool too. If you have the spare cash and a nice computer monitor buy a vga box for your dreamcast, the games look really sharp on a monitor. Oh yeah and if you are tight on money you might check out this for purely educational purposes.
I can't see buying an Xbox or any other new system until I run out of new games to try out for Dreamcast which will take me awhile. In the midst of trying to beat Rayman 2 right now.
[quote]Fran, you should be ashamed of yourself if you think Halo plays well with a controller compared to a mouse and keyboard.

If there was a keyboard and mouse for the XBox and Halo supported it, maybe I'd try it. I have a keyboard/mouse for the DC, and the GCN is going to have one as well.
I don't like indy 500 games. I will work to pick up 2 more memeory packs, for a total of 4 and 2 controllers.
Also, how do I purge the Internal memery? Vanishing point is not using the edited Internet settings (I used a work around to get my DC to dial the area code). ALso when signing up for a Key via Daytona USA, on the page asking to select your age, all that loads is the box and nothing below it (and nothing in it).
Should I get the wheel from Futureshop (30 left .ca) @ $50 USD, (not interact wheel).
What do people think of the Interact Temor pack. I hear it is more rumbly then Sega's (that's why I got 2).
I'm thinking of picking up a Dreamcast because they're like $40. but I want to know how supported it is. Is anyone still making games besides SEGA?

Many projects have been cancelled, e.g. Half-Life and Black&White. There are only few games in production, and I guess we'll see the last releases in mid 2002. DC hardware is not in production anymore, so the installed base won't increase.
But you should buy it anyway - there are many great exclusive titles and the price for hardware and software won't be beat soon. Of course you have to change to another console sooner or later.
[quote]Hasn't anyone ever played UT on a Dreamcast? The game only costs $7.99 at Best Buy if you can find it.

Oh my god!!!!! I love that game on the DC, that game 4 player is sooooo fun!!!! Capture the flag, Domination!!!!! Even on my crappy 14" TV in my dorm. The controllers are OK, not the best, its kinda like goldeneye on the N64. I thought it was comfortable once you got used to it.
The only annoying thing is that the game is not the smoothest with some slow down and an awful frame rate. Also some of the coolest levels are not available 4 player, like Face.
Quake 3 Arena on the DC is also cool but you can only have 4 players max, ie no bots. The control system is completely different as well (like Turok) , neither is better but once you get used to either they're fun. Anyway, 4 player DC = FUN!
If I had known that I could lay my hands on a Xbox myself this week, I wouldn't have started this thread.
Anyway: Halo seems to be no revolution, but definitely a cool game - also on Mac later next year. Dead or Alive 3 ... is it just me or is the difference to part 2 on PS2 very small?
Still the whole thing is one ugly piece of plastic.
Down here in San Antonio the xbox is not selling as well as the Nintendo Game Cube. I went to Conn's, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, Sam's, Comp USA and Toys R Us and they all had at least 5 or more xbox's and NO GC's... I asked the salesmen how the sales are going... GC's are flying off the shelves and the xboxes are going at about half the speed if not slower... Looks like I'm going to have to fight for my GC.
1.1 million Xbox's shipped so far, a little ahead of Nintendo, not too bad. Seems people are buying more Xbox games on average with their new system than those buying game cubes as well.
I think the fact Microsoft is targeting a broader range of customers - and customers with disposible income, at that - has something to do with the sales numbers. They've got more big-name titles and ones that are aimed at an older audience as opposed to the GC, which....well...could have had a better starting lineup.
That 1.1 million is the amount "sold-in" to retailers and that doesn't necessarily mean they are getting into customers' homes does it? I'm not a retail expert so I don't know. I know I've seen a bunch on the shelves when I go to the store. Maybe that's because they're shipping more in on a regular basis.
Nonetheless, it seems like a decent game system and will probably sell well. Gotta give em some credit for making enough. Apparently Nintendo sold out all of its game cube allotment of about 740,000 or so. Whatever that means.
I didn't read anything about people buying more games with the xbox than with the gamecube. Anecdotally, the people I know who've bougt cubes have gotten at least 2 or 3 games with each one. Plus another controller.
