The people from AI make me laugh ragging on MOSR for going down. The forums on this site have been down more times then Monica went down on Bill.
As for accuracy ill take MOSR over AI any day of the week. Do any of you actually read the complete posts on MOSR? Ive read multiple posts in the g5 forum of people saying "I think the info on the g5 that MOSR is getting is coming from the same person that the Register is getting it from" - Hello! Ryan flat out SAID it was the same person!! The only info broken on this site is on the forum, which will be down the emtire week of Macworld Expo.
Just got the news that dear old gran left me a chunk of change. The check will arrive just in time for MacWorld. Guess who'll be first in line to order a G5. God bless you, Ryan Meader.
[quote]I'm all for good rumor sites, but MOSR is just bad, bad, bad. They couldn't get their shit together in a bathroom for christ's sake... Let's all pray for bad things to happen to them.

Wasn't it MOSR which correctly predicted the Cube, to the answering strains of loud guffawing and skepticism by posters to this site?
1.) the rumors originated right here on these boards.
2.) workerbee was a one time thing and sent it to all sites.
3.) MOSR actually posted rumors of the cube from different sources when in reality workerbee was the only one with real info. that's why MOSR had dumb reports about big cubes, small cubes, black cubes, etc.
Please, I remember what AI was predicting : a cube that stacks. With a G4esk skin ( complete with drawings ). Also I remember reading about the cube on MOSR first while everybody here was laughing at the idea and calling MOSR names. While we are on the subject we could talk about that fat G4 tower or that finger fitting mouse. From my point of view it's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.
My impression has always been that Meader's bad reputation didn't come from being wrong sometimes so much as being a total jerk all the time -- not giving credit, ripping off other people's work, stealing rumors and taking the credit himself, real junior high kind of stuff. You might do a search on some of the bigger boards, there are plenty of stories.
I do read MOSR but it always makes me feel kind of bad.

Honestly, I don't think the hatred for Ryan Meader and MOSR has a lot to do with their prediction record. I think it has more to do with the vast amount of crap and lies he publishes on his site, especially recently. I'm not talking about his actual posts... I'm tired of seeing his server notes at the top of the page. One week he is claiming that his Mac OS X kernal was having problems, and that his inside engineers at Apple were fixing it... and more recently he has published that he can't figure out how to maintain a mailing list of paying customers in mail.app. Of course, he never directly admits his inability to do some of the simplest of tasks. Instead he ends up writing a short essay as to why he isn't doing his job, why it isn't necessarily his fault, and how Apple employees are taking time out of their day to assist him.
It frustrates me to go there, and read a server update at the top that is a three paragraph long excuse for his inability to run a web site and server. The annoyance does go a bit farther though. His articles also seem to be quite long. In fact, when I have gone there recently, all I tend to read is the headline and the first paragraph... that pretty much sums up the post. His posts are very longwinded, and it would be one thing if the length of them was giving a fair amount of interesting information, but lately it has just felt like he's *trying* to make the posts long.
On the other hand, if I go to ThinkSecret.com, Nick sometimes writes longer articles, but they're better written and not made to be intentionally longer.
At any rate, the only reason I go to any of these sites is to try and get some bearing on what may lie ahead. I'm not keeping score for any of the sites, but I do expect the publishers to write decent articles, and not make up excuses for their incompetence on the front of their site. Macsurfer dropped MOSR from their front end a while ago, and while I'm sure a lot of it had to do with it's inability to update on a regular basis, but I'm sure the other reasoning was what I've mentioned above.

MOSR goes down a lot, but at least they post something when they're up.

They used to publish every other day. Now its once every two weeks.

They also played into the hoax for the cube...bigtime. Somehow they did get it right though.......I actually would hate to see it go down completely.
Yup.

They may be wrong alot of the time, but it's not like you are going to believe a rumor site are you?
Take the MOSR advice with a grain of salt like they tell you, and you'll be fine!

We're the better rumors site one day per year.
I really couldn't care less about AI rumors anyhow - I'm just here for the forums.

where did I ever say AI was better? IMO AI is worse. a lot worse. Ai has a very bad record.

My two cents (and four paragraphs ;-)...
Elite Apple Ninja Death Squad.
In related news, AI was hit by the Elite Adobe Ninja Death Squad before we could even piss them off... film at 11.
No... DAMN
