<strong>Honestly, I don't think the hatred for Ryan Meader and MOSR has a lot to do with their prediction record. I think it has more to do with the vast amount of crap and lies he publishes on his site...</strong><hr></blockquote>
Oh you mean that stroy a few months back about someone sending in their TI Book for repair DIDN'T get a SuperDrive or was it a Combo drive by mistate? <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> and all of those others who later chimed in (used to 'confirm' the story) were also not true?
To those who miss MOSR so bad this one is for you:

12/13/01 Could G6 Mac's be on the way?
--
Hundreds of MOSR readers have emailed us in the past few day telling us about some strange events concerning their PowerMac G4's that were sent back to Apple for repair.
It seems these people were sending in their 533Mhz G4 towers and much to their surprise were getting back 1.5Ghz PPC G6 machines!
If you have any additional info about this please email us! Pretty please? Oh and remember your MOSR 'donations' are once again due. Please remit ASAP!
Just for the record though (and the last post wa funny , I'm not calling his rumors lies necessarily ;-) Again, my beef isn't with his predictions (except for the fact that they're obscenely long-winded) so much as it is with all his little server notes and what not. I think when mosr.net was still around, they ended up doing a pretty good job of hitting the nail on the head.
Like I said, when they've got new rumors. <hr></blockquote>
So you're telling us that in the past 8 months the best rumor AI has is an LCD iMac?
And those of you who say AI is more acurate than MOSR just have a look at AI front page and read so predictions from earlier this year:
"Monday, February 20, 2001
New iMac Special Edition to Sport DVD/CD-RW
Macworld Tokyo is due to kick off a little later this week, and everyone's favorite fruit company is expected to debut a couple of new or revised hardware offerings..."
"Wednesday, January 17, 2001
Apple to Offer G4 iMacs
Everyone's favorite fruit company does indeed have plans to offer G4 powered iMac personal computers, sources confirmed today..."
Wasn't it AI the broke the story that Disney was buying Apple and the Steve Jobs was going to be CEO of the new Apple-Disney?
I like MOSR for it's entertainment value. Sure, some of the postings are long winded, but they're there. I also like AI's reporting, when it's there. ThinkSecret is cool, but the name "Nick dePlume" sounds kind of porno. MacRumors is a good place to find articles not linked to by the other sites.
We're pleased to be back on the air -- partially, at least. Tons of fresh updates, new features, and other cool new stuff are on the way; we're nailing down some outstanding server issues and taking this opportunity to begin updating the site behind the scenes with new code and HTML we've been working on while we've been off the air.
Stay tuned....we'll have more to report by tomorrow.
Man everyone slams MOSR for their messages, what about this little nugget from AI's home page?
"We apologize for our discussion forums' erratic performance tonight and into tomorrow as our access provider completes network upgrades and maintenance routines."
BTW, I read Go2Mac (used to be O'Grady's PowerPage) all the time. excellent PowerBook biased news - Not huge on the rumors front, mostly a news site:
actually they're (MOSR) back, kind of. no new stuff though. aside from the BS flying around the forums, "insider" info must be hard to come by lately. hardly anybody is dishing any new dirt that hasn't been seen everywhere else.
Time travel must be the technique he uses to predict the future with such accuracy. Ryan has already been to MWSF. Of course the details are being embargoed.
