OS X Server for X86 is such an absurd notion, I won't even get into it beyond the fact that OS X Server is superficially different from OS X Client and X86 server hardware runs the same software as X86 desktop hardware.
And no, it's not just a simple recompile. And there's no reason for anybody to switch from whatever enterprise or server OSes they are already running.
And there's not much to interoperability between OS X and other UNIX platforms ANYWAY...especially in an LDAP based system.
