Applenut, I have to say, you really kind of poisoned the waterhole in introducing yourself to the Radioheads. I REEALLLYY think you could have gone a *bit* easier on BJ.
On another note, I think it's interesting how they almost EXPECT new users to introduce themselves. It's like a rite of passage into the regular user-dom. Man, you don't see that here.
"Hey, ya'll. I'm CosmoNut. I'm 22 years old and like Macs."
can I use someone's L/P or can they make an L/P for people who wanna see? I still ahvent gotten an email from them with the procedure... I tried to register.. but no luck... dono
ah well.. so much for trying to change the perception of the mac zealot

Applenut - well done... it may or may not change someone's perceptions over there. Maybe not the young person whom you flamed, but maybe someone else will see the light.
It really isn't about the hardware, it's about the tools, the ease of use.
My kids can learn mac much easier than windows... that says to me simple is good.
I use W2k all day at work.... it runs. it is complicated. it does the job. but i'd be much happier on a mac!
now perhaps we'll be onslaught with a few radiohead fools now that they have "discovered" the source of apple evangelists

radiohead fools? I love radiohead Anyway, I went to the thread to see what all the fuss was about and BJ had edited all his posts to say "All my opinions are wrong". I kinda got the idea from your replies, but too bad... good job applenut. You're a bit on the gruff side I wouldn't want you for an advisor.
The concept of a barage of Apple zealots swooping on naysayers is hilarious! I love the idea people are somewhat afraid to speak anti-Apple sentiments for fear of gand UBB violence.
I think we should make a point to always move en masse to any thread debating the relative worth of Macs.
One last note: the people in that thread didn't know what they were talking about. But Radiohead is one fabulous band, and ateaseweb.com is a great place if you are into them.
Does one have to register before being able to even read the above mentioned thread on that board? I can't access it or register for some strange reason.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

"Hey, ya'll. I'm CosmoNut. I'm 22 years old and like Macs."
EVERYONE in chorus: "Hi, CosmoNut."
my personal favorite was your comment about how Mac users have software that sniffs anti-Mac sentiment. When we get a hit, we attack!

Yeah, you really slapped them down.
anyways
that whole thing was REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY sad if you think about it, its like
"someones bashing macs!"
ATTACK!!!!!
then all of a sudden the radiohead UBB gets a couple 100 new members and a thread that is 80% consitant of only them saying "macs rule"
way to drown out the opposition
but black jesus was a ****
that was ridiculous, but at least now I know of that UBB, I have been frequenting it lately, as I LOVE radiohead

I don't think it's sad. It was actually rather fun and gave me that warm fuzzy feeling I get whenever a Wintroll is smacked down hard
Applenut did a great job! And thanks to PookJP for letting us know about this wonderful killing-thread
One for all, and all for one!

Like Scott McNealy says... any zero can run a monopoly.
Attacking with profanity does not help your case. It makes you look like a bitter loser. Anyone can spout profane insults.

give me a break. there are like 3 people at that message board and we made them look like asses. It lightened up my day a bit.
I read that thread and no where do i see any suggestion that I am a "bitter loser" thank you.
lighten up.
