Samsung can continue to do what it does as long as it has the resources to spend billions and billions and billions of dollars on marketing.

Beyond that though, there is the question of the sheer size and gravity of Samsung's position in the market.  It takes resources to move an object like Samsung.  LG?  HTC?  Not a chance.  They simply don't have the ability to make a dent.  Samsung has (in terms of this particular issue) nearly unlimited resources.  HTC has very few resources.

And lets face it: What is the difference between one Android phone and another?  It's just a specs battle.  And there will always be positive and negative reviews for any given phone.  So when it comes down to it it's about two things: Marketing and an already installed costumer base.  No one has anything close to Samsung in either category.

Do you really see someone like LG coming out with something completely revolutionary that not only catapults them into the lead, but changes the very game being played (the way the iPhone did, for instance)?  Come on.

Nobody ever sees the knockout punch.

Sorry but that is neither a refutation of what I said -- and it's also not true, if you go back you will see that Blackberry DID in fact see what the iPhone was going to do to them -- nor is it even close to an argument in favor of your original point, which was:

Apple should bother suing companies like HTC to make some difference in the future, because someone like HTC might be the next Samsung.

You still have made no rational argument in favor of that stance.

Apple and HTC already settled everything, dropped all lawsuits and have a 10 year licensing agreement with current and future patents.
    Nothing to sue over.
