Not everyone has the same type of humour. Not everyone "gets British humour". That fact doesn't make it less funny, just not funny to those individuals .... kind of like "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

Looks like Dr Dre donated money instead of doing the Ice water bucket challenge? We're well over the 24hour mark …

Ah, shame Cook didn't nominate Craig Federighi! How awesome would that have been!?

Not awesome at all, but thanks for asking.

I am back from my self imposed sabbatical.

Is that you Craig? If so, could you pass on this message to Jony Ive?:

My first impressions from the ? watch:

    1. Why not having a round circular body instead of a rounded rectangle? This way you could incorporate the digital crown on top of the watch? Like BMW's iDrive.  It'd be much easier to manipulate.

    2. You could take this concept even further. Like the iPod clickwheel you could make the digital crown tactile. Slide your finger around the circular frame to navigate. Press the watch face to enter. Just like the clickwheel. It is actually the clickwheel, but reimagined for the watch.

It could have even been capacitive. If they had a circular chamfered edge, they could have a wire round it internally or some other sensor and you'd just swivel your fingers round the edge of the face. The LG G Watch has a physical dial round the edge though it's probably static. They could have gone that route but the physical dial is seen more on men's watches so it limits the appeal.

They could even have just put a capacitive strip on the larger button at the bottom and you'd rub the edge up and down to zoom in and out. The crown button is a fail on so many levels - as someone mentioned about the demo, they spent most of the time touching the screen and not using the crown dial at all. The crown dial is a flaw, not a feature on analog watches and it's ironic that people say a round face has no place with a digital watch and yet a dial button does.

I am also mystified why they didn't make use of the iconic clickwheel concept for their watch. It is a proven concept, both ergonomically & technologically.

One final note: I am not too happy with the ? watch name either. The "watch" name is creating the wrong expectations. The watch is only a gimmick. This thing is doing so much more. It is recording things. Keeping track of things.

They should have called it, iO. Plain and simple. iO is a simple round iDevice. You wear it like a watch. This thing is going to be intimate with you. This is you.

And one more thing: get rid of the Photos app. It has no place on your wrist. You watch your photos on your iPhone or iPad. But not on iO.

Craig are you reading this? Someone needs to pass this on to Apple.

    That’s a little vain, don’t you think? ;)
