If a doctor and/or health institution skimps out on tablets, what else do they skimp out on? Stuff like medicine or treatment given to patients?

Especially when it is so well known that iOS totally dominates the health industry, I would be extremely suspicious of anybody using an Android tablet. Why would they make that decision? It would either have to be total ignorance and gross incompetence or just total cheapness. Either way, both would be adequate reasons to dump that doctor and/or health institution.

I think we need to go farther than that.  Let's really send a message to the world.

Why not also refuse to get treatment from any hospital that does not exclusively use Apple computers?  Was that why Steve Jobs took so long to get treatment? If so, he should be admired for standing by his convictions even in the face of death.

And refuse to be buried in any cemetery that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to put your money in any bank that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to attend any school that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to work for any company that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to vote for any public official who does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to appear in any court of law that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to shop at any store that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to eat any food that was not prepared exclusively using Apple computers?

And refuse to take any medication was that not designed and manufactured exclusively using Apple computers?

And refuse to drive any car that was not built exclusively using Apple computers?

And refuse to fly to or from any airport that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to fly on any airline that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to connect to any internet service provider that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to access any web site that is not hosted exclusively on Apple computers?

And refuse to live in any house that was not built exclusively using Apple computers?

And refuse to use electricity from any electric company that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

And refuse to use water from any water company that does not exclusively use Apple computers?

    Sounds reasonable to me.

    They aren't THAT sensationalist.

    Plenty are, though.

His wider point was that the media have a tendency to be irrationally negative about Apple, and that this negativity goes way back into the mists of time.

It's purposeful hyperbole to mock their over-the-top reporting of Apple.

America's Veterans Affairs healthcare system was thrust into the spotlight after it was reported that veterans were receiving subpar care, some of whom supposedly died waiting for treatment. The revelations led to an investigation that found a system fraught with trouble. Falsification of records meant to cover up excessive wait times, incorrect diagnoses and other scandals came to light, ultimately forcing former VA head Eric Shinseki to tender his resignation.

Why is this even in the story. What does it have to do with Cooks visit or the use of ipads. Nothing. It seems to be there only to fulfill some weird quota that there has to be some kind of scandal in all stories AI posts

Health care (civilian and military) centers are pretty much dominated by iPads. Android doesn't offer the types of apps that specialists, like neurologists and cardiologists, have access to on iOS. And I doubt it will change any time soon, if ever.

It's not just the apps. Those were created by someone or some company and they choose to create for iOS. Why? Why not make an android version instead or in addition. Perhaps because of the infrastructure. Apple has created systems for distributing apps publicly and in house, they created Configurator. Plus the lack of malware, built in restrictions, etc. These things might be what enticed the app developers to go iOS and the equal lack of might be making them not jump into android just yet
