Samsung asks New Yorkers to compare Apple's iPad Air to Galaxy Tab S in new ad
In a new spot posted to its YouTube account on Friday, Samsung took to the streets of New York City and asked consumers to compare the Galaxy Tab S to the iPad Air, with the results predictably skewed in favor of the Samsung tablet.
Hosted by a wild-haired young man named Deval, the one minute and twenty-two second commercial invites people who are out-and-about to compare the slates primarily on physical features, like thinness and weight. "It's actually really light," says one man, and "this one's thinner," says another, referring to the Galaxy Tab S.
Displays are also briefly mentioned, with the Samsung spokesman saying the Galaxy Tab S boasts "almost 1 million more pixels" than the iPad. Comments range from "the resolution's awesome" to "Samsung makes the best screens in the world," said by one woman in a matter-of-fact manner.
Interestingly, one couple that appear to be carrying iPhones and verify that they "love tablets, all day" are shown in the ad's opening, but do not appear again.
Samsung has altered its marketing strategy in recent months to point more directly at Apple, as the two companies fight for control of the mobile phone and tablet markets around the world. Previous Samsung ads have poked fun at Apple users waiting in line for a new iPhone release, for instance, and the company most recently called out the iPhone 5s to take the ALS ice bucket challenge.

Pause at 36 sec, that's clearly not an iPad Air
I'm sure the screen is bright and saturated, but is it color accurate? It makes sense to stick with your own ecosystem though. If you have a Samsung phone then a Samsung tablet fits. My ecosystem is all Apple so I would never consider a Samsung device. All the important people in my life have iOS so iMessage and Facetime are must haves for me.
So is it true that girls are smarter than men? No, because those in commentary section insulting those poor girls are not men but failures

Unless you prefer not to support an unethical and despicable company who are blatant thieves. Then Samsung is never the right choice.
Now if you would've said "Microsoft" or "HTC", I'd agree.
But let's teach the kids a lesson out there:
Samsung is never the right choice.
Samsung is never the right choice.
Teach that to Tim Cook.
Samsung has already been caught lying about there commercials. All setup so naturally the people that got paid to say Samsung was better were in the commercial doing so. This is no big surprise.
All lies!
seriously lame. Like anyone would believe that these were random encounters with random people who all just happen to love Samsung and speak marketing copy.
Samsung needs to get over their obsession with Apple and focus first on being the best Android brand. Win that market first.
My ecosystem is all Apple too.....so much so that I didn't even consider a Samsung refrigerator last weekend when I had to go out and buy one.

"compare the slates primarily on physical features, like thinness and weight."
sounds like they don't have much else to talk about. Kind of like Microsoft focusing on the kickstand. Not a good impression to give
What did you buy? I went with all GE Profile. Highest rated but complete crap in my opinion. I had the refrigerator replaced the first week. The dishwasher had to be serviced twice in the first month and now the microwave circuit board failed as well. I was able to fix it, twice. It apparently is a known defect. You have to disassemble it and clean the connectors on a ribbon cable which get dirty from cooking.
I don't hate Samsung. I just want the best products for my needs. I really don't care who makes it. My MBP has a Samsung screen, which I'm happy about because the ones that came with LG screen had problems, my iOS devices are full of Samsung kit. I'm not going to boycott Apple products because they contain Samsung parts. I use Google services and their search too, but I would never buy an Android device because I prefer iOS, but if my vacuum cleaner, TV or washing machine used some Android, I wouldn't care.
I'm planning to purchase 6 new split AC units next year and I am considering Samsung as they are one of the highest rated.
Not a hard ad to make. Show products, toss out pro Apple responses. They don't even need to guild the respondents if they have time enough. Sleazy ways to make their job easier:
Go outside in bright light and turn down Apple product.
Use older Apple product.
Use blown out color profile which looks better at first glance but is glaring and inaccurate.
Talk up spec war crap (like pixels the human eye cant see but eat battery life and speed)
I can't believe there are advertising agencies that are still rehashing the old "street poll" concept. Though I guess if it's what Samsung asked for...
The interesting part for me was all the comments that said 'That is the best one', but no pointing occurred, and the tablets are not in view. Could have been either in real life.
