Kirsten Dunst seems to believe that her iCloud account was hacked.
The image and your text differ in supposition. iCloud could be hacked, exposing everyone. HER iCloud account could be hacked, meaning they got her information.
Hmm. I assume the person in charge of the 'active investigation' has to take a proper inventory of all the compromising data on iCloud, so as to have an accurate sense of what proportion was hacked/compromised, no?
Nice job....
I had a friend who was on a team at MS where he was testing a nudity filter in one of their products. He got a major freakout from IT and security one day when he downloaded about half a terabyte of test data in six hours, late at night.
This story is on the front page of several UK newspapers. It couldn't have come at a worse time for Apple, especially if they're planning a big mobile payments announcement next week. Fair or unfair it just reinforces the meme that Apple doesn't get the web, doesn't get cloud services, is not up to par when it comes to security, etc. This has the makings of being a PR disaster. If it wasn't an iCloud hack Apple needs to communicate that as soon as possible.
PS: We really need to teach kids about the potential longterm risks of their actions on the internet and pretty much anything they do with an electric device. I didn't choose an anonymous name here because I have something to hide from the average person here — and many of you do know my real name — but because you jut never know who in a digital world is looking to take advantage of you.
You contradict your good self in one sentence: you do have something to hide - from baddies.
Just because some pea brained actress believes that iCloud has been hacked doesn't make it so. Maybe somebody gained access to their account, but that doesn't mean that there has been a system wide attack on iCloud. I am interested in cold, hard facts, not simple minded speculation and ignorant hysteria.
I also don't have much sympathy for anybody who gets their pictures leaked online.
I don't care who it is, Apple, Google, Microsoft, whoever. It doesn't make a damn difference.
Don't store any pictures online that you do not want anybody else to see.
I use iCloud and have no problems with it, but I sure as hell wouldn't upload any x-rated pictures of myself to iCloud.

It's not a iCloud hack. If it was, the hacker would've retrieved the pictures of tim cook and jony Ive as a proof. Now, think how embarrassing THAT would've been for Apple. But that didn't happen.
You mean Academy Award winning actor Jennifer Lawrence? Smacks of misogyny.
That means nothing to me. Being able to read and memorize some lines from a script does not make somebody an expert in cloud security.
And I'm not a misogynist, I like women a lot, but not all women, only certain women. I never signed any agreement or contract that I have to like all women.
And just for the sake of fairness, there are definitely some pea brained male actors out there also, so there. Are you going to claim that I hate women and men next?" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
And I was referring mainly to whoever tweeted out that dumb tweet.

I think the male equivalent might be a cabbage-brained twit. ???? Let's keep peas to the fairer sex, partial though I am to tuna and pea pasta; Princesses and all that.

Yes, because she is the authority on hacking.

#2 rule - never let anyone take your picture naked.
You’d be surprised at the number of people who claim this isn’t a valid argument and that people should be allowed to do whatever they want.
And they'd be wrong.

People are dumb.
This reaks of a public smear a week before the latest iPhone release.
Next you'll be saying that Samsung is behind it

Maybe they are, or Google.
Yes, because she is the authority on hacking.
She is most likely the authority on where she stored nude photos of herself.

It's obvious that you don't use iOS device.
Rich celebrities take pictures of themselves naked.
Rich celebrities have short, obvious, passwords for their accounts.
Rich celebrities are rich.
Sorry, but I've looked and I'm all out of f#cks to give about this problem.

doesn't make one an Academy Award winning actress.
doesn't make one an Academy Award winning actress.
And winning an Academy Award still doesn't make somebody an expert or an authority on anything that is computer related.
I don't care if somebody won 11 Academy Awards.
Kirsten Dunst seems to believe that her iCloud account was hacked.
Darn. Somehow I had forgotten to block you. Fixed.
