I'm not so sure that AT&T even had more than a handful of 6+s to sell. I completed my order through AT&T for two 64GB units in space gray and silver at 2:06 AM CT. I was in such a rush to get them ordered I completely missed that the shipping date was 14-21 business days for both. It all went off without a hitch otherwise. At least I'm in line I suppose.

Anyone wanna guess-timate how many millions were pre-ordered?

    I'll give you a hint, it's more than 2.

We ordered 2. Is what I'm saying.

There's a poll on 9to5 Mac that surprised me, 45% of the people who took the poll said they ordered 6+ models. I didn't have an actual number in mind but 45% is higher than I would have bet.

Why?   Why is needing to charge it overnight such a big problem?

It's not your basic timex, for Steve's sake!

How many people on this earth even wear their watches to bed?   Would you be neurotic enough to NEED the watch to buzz you at all hours just in case you might miss that one phone call?   Good Woz, people, lighten up on the addiction to connectivity and learn what the world is like!

Yes, I'm connected to my phone for the long haul, but when I'm sleeping - it goes off!   NOTHING is so important that it can't wait until morning (Except, of course, a valid fire alarm... but then my phone or watch won't be the alarms for that yet).

If the damned thing makes it through the day and you take it off, clip it to it's magnetic charger, then put it on in the morning... where's the problem?    I can see battery life being an issue if it can't make it through your full day....

Tallest Skil says fewer than 10% of the new phones sold will be plus-size... they're totally unusable.

Wow. Arrogant much? I'm glad the watch meets your use cases exactly, but it's rude to tell everyone else that what's good enough for you should be good enough for them!

I for one would like to wear the watch 24/7. That doesn't mean I want to be tapped for all notifications that come through overnight - but a series of taps in the morning to wake me up would be great! So - for that reason alone, I would prefer to have a recharging method that didn't require me to take it off. Or a battery that lasts days instead of hours - or both! That doesn't mean I'm not going to get one the first day it's available. I am. I think the watch is awesome as is - but there is definitely room for improvement and I'm certainly not going to refrain from asking for those improvements because you don't need them and you don't think that I should need them either.

Despite fear of sounding incredibly uninformed, was last year's iPhone 5S/5C records for Apple sales only, or for the entire smartphone industry?

I've been to several launches.  The phones are literally being unloaded from the delivery truck right before they go on sale.  That could change, but it does seem like Apple likes to cut it close.

They’d prefer the carriers not to sell their product before they say so.

Why on earth would you want the rocky first hours to be when there are MORE people around to rockify them?

True. They should launch them at 3am to give more of a chance to the real fans. :)
