You realise you can create personalised albums where you can put commonly accessed photos.
Sure, but unless I'm missing something just the task of creating an album by browsing through the images is needlessly complicated because everything over a month old is lumped together until you create an album. And assuming there are a lot of times when I want to find a certain picture that isn't special enough to have been put in an album I still should create one for it anyway. Basically everything you want to not be part of the sum of all your devices and iCloud needs to have an album created for them. Then you end up with way too many albums that you created, easily 40 or 60, just to have some order in the images older than a month, which helps the main collection but defeats the benefit of albums since there are so many.
I dunno. When I go back to my own iPad I'm more convinced they didn't do it right for the upgrade yet.

I just don't know what your problem is. Photos are organised in chronological order by default and are easy to find. What could be simpler or more sensible?

Staying out of the way and not performing unrequested sorting. Just leaving everything in a single repository until put elsewhere by the user. Simple.
I've desperately been seeking for a solution to get the Camera Roll back since I as a photographer find iOS8 simply stupid in the way it handles photos.
Eureka - Today I found the solution, so I hope it can help someone else like me.
The app is Photosane - Classic Camera Roll by Red Mecanic.

OR install the next iOS 8 Patch where the roll is coming back....
Beta of 8.1 has Camera Roll back in place of Recently Added, though it's looking to be a compromise leaning toward the new design, but that may be all that's needed. It seems to be more than simply a name change. There's also a My Photo Stream again. It looks like the need to delete an image 3 times before is actually deleted has been tended to. Likely a few more of the interface choices made for images have been improved. ( If you're going to require users create albums for every image they want to be able to locate easily you ought not make it such a bad experience when they extend over all of the places they've been automatically placed, for one.)
Nice Info, thanks... This means the free icloud storage will be filled up pretty quickly, then the phone will get filled up and then the backup will stop working because there is no more space in icloud unless you pay for extra space. I dont think the majority will chose to pay, so this will be a big mess with no space in cloud and no space in phone.
I know there is option to turn this off, but then nothing gets automatically shared to what we knew so far as photo stream and if i want to access to see iphone pics from ipad i have to do something awkward manually.
I wish there would be option to set space limit for photos on iphone. "Last 30 days" is way too little.nice article, thanks...
Who determines that due away with camera role is easier? It took a long time for me to organize my photos in categories that worked for me and now they re-arranged them in someone else's perspective.
Do you want some else going to your closet and rearrange it when they are not the ones using it?
How do I get my photos in the categories that I've arrange them instead of by date/time/location ? This sucks big time.

i have 10-12 categories that I've created with photos from web for my design, example: family, college friends, hair, fashion, fall 2016 design, summer 2016 etc. I can get to these right away without searching through my entire album or having to remember when I saved them.
the fact you don't understand my method is why I shouldn't think Apple or any would either. Everyone organization will be different. This is the very reason why they shouldn't do what they did and leave users confused and annoyed.
If Apple decides something is better in their perspective, especially, when it come to individual organization, they should give the users the option to opt out. Just like yahoo mail classic vs new. Yahoo allows the users a period of time to adjust and allow amble warner before classic version completely goes away ior that it will not be supported.

Which is what happens now.
Glad to sort out that out for you.

Yeah…but I don't want to wait 90-days or so for next release...
Also I'm not convinced that they'll put all the functions back in the actual release.
I paid the $0.99 for Photosane and I don't care if they put it all back or not.
If they do I just wasted the 0.99, if they don't it was well spent...

I definitely don't think it will have all the older functionality, but it seems to have dealt with a few of the most disliked changes.
On the other hand, if folks like the way it is and to have to delete a file 3 times before it stops showing up, well, they can keep this version.
