Strange. I have no issue with my car's link to my phone

Will the time come when nobody will accept automatic updates? I certainly wouldn't accept them on my computer or phone. I like machines that work and continue to work. :)

There are major connection issues with iOS 8 and 8.0.2. This includes, not just Bluetooth, but also Wifi. Apple denies that there is a problem, but check out just this one thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6546549?tstart=0
More than 68 thousand views and 49 pages long in two weeks. Apple remains in denial.

Do a repair disk permissions then do a clean reinstall of Mavericks. It fixed the issue for me. /s

I have. It had any issues with my BMW 535i with either 8.0 or 8.0.2. I'm an IOS developer and haven't seen any connectivity issues with Bluetooth since iOS 6 and all updates since then.

My iPhone connected with my car and could be used for calls, but it would not load up the phonebook with my contacts, Resetting the phone preferences fixed the problem.

Zero problems with BMW 535i on 8.0.2 or 8.0 and no problems since iOS 6. The reports of massive car failures are bull.

What? No problem for me. iOS 8 then 8.0.2 with Panasonic in the car was fine. (I never installed 8.0.1.) Why is this about auto bluetooth? It's no different than any other bluetooth implementation is it? Something is missing from this article. Maybe this report is based on just a bit of anecdote. This is how rumors get started. Need someone to drop some science on this problem.

The headline makes it sounds like the update breaks all Bluetooth connections to automobiles. How about a bit more accurate wording or are we just trying to sensationalize for more clicks and ad revenue?

Strange, My wife and I have not had any issues with our BT Sony Deck with either of our iPhone 6's from day one (nor our HiddenRadio or BT headphones). I know it is anecdotal but BT has not been a problem at all.

Music match, however has been weird enough that I restored the phone and turned it off – it was not removing music and swelling the "other" category until it filled my device – but that was the only issue I have run into with both iHone6 and iOS8.

8.0 and 8.2 have worked fine with my Blue Trip adapter in my Electric VW Thing, 2011 Ford F150 (Sync) and in my Tesla Model S....

FWIW - 2007 Prius & iP6 connected 1st time (had to enter the connect code for the new hardware). But, I have not been able to get my iPhone5 (or 6) to play music through BT. Hardwire works fine. What am I doing wrong?

It also broke my wired USB connection from my 5th gen iPod nano to my car stereo.  And bent my steering wheel.  /s

This bug also broke connectivity for those of us who use "Made for iPhone" hearing aids. However, after installing iOS 8.1 beta, most of the issues were corrected.

I've got a 2015 Porche 918 and a Mclaren P1. The iPhone isn't pairing with either car. I guess I'll be sending both cars back.

Since iOS 8 became available in September, users have been posting in a growing thread on the Apple Support Communities website to voice their frustration with the apparent bug. The issue appears to apply to a wide range of vehicle Bluetooth systems, from manufacturers including Toyota, Nissan, Chevy, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and even aftermarket stereo systems.

AppleInsider has also experienced the issue firsthand with certain vehicles. Starting with iOS 8, devices would show that they were connected to the car and the system would attempt to dial, but no sound comes through the vehicle's speakers.

Users report that iOS 8 has also introduced problems when attempting to play music, podcasts or other audio through the vehicle's speakers.

While the problems were apparently not addressed by Apple's iOS 8.0.2 update, users who are testing the forthcoming iOS 8.1 update say the beta software appears to fix the problem. As iOS 8.1 remains in private developer testing and is not available to the public, it's unknown whether the software will indeed address the issues for the wide range of users who began to experience problems with iOS 8.0.

In the meantime, some users said that they were able to fix the problem by resetting their iPhone's settings. Unfortunately, doing so has its own separate bug: Currently, choosing the "Reset All Settings" option in iOS 8 will delete iCloud Drive data.

In addition, users posting on Apple's forums indicated that while resetting their iPhone's settings did fix the problem, the solution appears to only be temporary for some. Still others said that Bluetooth will temporarily function as expected, only to stop working again.

"So I had two random days of bluetooth working for no reason. This morning, it no longer works," user 'Skape4321' wrote. "Certainly strange that it seems to pick random days to function properly."

Apple's iOS 8.1 update is expected to arrive this month, likely enabling the new Apple Pay feature that will be exclusive to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at launch.

A click bait headline. Appleinsider is seemingly desperate in the face of the Internet see of clickbaits... And must do the same. Only a minority of people actually have this issue. IOS 8 doesn't "break" BT in a general sense.
