err I don't like Samsung at all...  Did you read the article at all, if you did you will see it's not about Samsung; or at least that was not the point of it.

(Also just for your information I am the proud owner of a new iPhone 6 Plus)

I did (read it) ... and you're right... it wasn't a blatantly pro-Samsung article.  It was, however, full of unsubstantiated speculation and conjecture regarding Apple.

Not that that's anything new... it is the state of "reporting" in ALL areas of our media these days (politics, tech, science, pop-culture)... NO media outlets seem to be able to report "news" without adding opinion and conjecture as if it were also relevant outside the op-ed "page".

All Apple iPhones offered CURRENTLY are ApplePay-enabled, according to the keynote.

    Not without another device.

No, that’s not how it works. It would’ve been the 5SC this year, but wasn’t. It’ll still be the 5S next year. The 6 falls where the 5S is now.

WHY?! They didn’t do it this year; they’re not going to do it.

The 5C broke the rules, by introducing a brand new model where the 5 should have dropped to the middle, while the 4S did what normally happens and drops to the bottom.

Since they dropped the 5C to the bottom, and the 5S took the middle unchanged, there was no reason to call it the 5SC. I don't believe Apple will phase out a brand new design after only two years on the market, so at a minimum, I'm saying they will drop the 5S into the plastic case next year and possibly call it the 5SC. I do not believe they will simply offer the existing 5S as is for free. They've sort of established a model to offer the entry level in plastic.

AND, since they have setup the expectation of introducing a new model at the middle price point during the "S" years, I doubt they will move the current 6 down to the middle, but instead introduce a 4" 6 "mini" in the middle price point, essentially the 6 in a smaller size, while they update the 6S and 6 Plus with all the latest bumps.

The iPhone 7 may see the 4" 6 replace the bottom entry level 5CS (ending the plastic era), with the larger 6S finally dropping to the middle spot, while the 7 Plus remains at the top,  mirroring the new design.

If next year they want to keep a colourful plastic line at the bottom I could see there being an iPhone 5SC.
