Doesn't half the country work for Samsung, the other half for Hyundai?
Ironically, most of my Korean friends have mentioned that Samsung is NOT popular in their own country because they got into a position of dominance years ago then let those areas stagnate while also jacking up prices.
Sure, so how many top iOS apps are running in 64 bit mode today?
The point is that Apple is over 1 year ahead of Android in this respect. A year from now you will ask how many apps are running natively 64-bit in Android and the answer will still be zero. There will be hundreds of thousands running in iOS in 64-bit a year from now.

I'd say most apps that have been updated in the last year run in 64 bit mode. I say that as a dev. We have not yet released, but have been running in 64 bit mode since last January. A couple trivial issues. Defaults in the build system are 64 bit so new apps will most likely be doing so out of the box, and updates are more likely than not I would guess.
In other words "LA LA LA LA!! I can't hear you!!!"
I'm sorry, but did you say anything?

No it's called offering a differing point of view. Something you seem to have a hard time accepting, that you can have iOS and Android devices and enjoy both.
why is the note so bad? i played with one for a few minutes and was generally impressed, aside from not really knowing how to use it because it was android.
Aside from the incoherence of the software—Samsung Life Companion stuff, crappy random fonts, etc., there's still something deeply tacky about the hardware, even though it's improved a little since the band-aid perf-plastic or the fake leather and stitching of one or two generations ago (not so long).
Samsung hasn't figured out, and they may never unless they take a crash course in Western design culture of the last century, that you can no longer fake any element in a product. Americans jumped that shark in the 1950s-70s. What Apple does is insist on integrity down to the screws it uses inside, or the inserts for the screws that are pressed into the aluminum.
What Samsung does with its leather-textured plastic backs on the Note, and the clunky plasti-chrome bezel around the raised camera lens is just not good enough taste, and a low awareness of design honesty. Like Hyundai cars have become, jammed with unnecessary elements.
Hmm and yet android phones far outnumber iphones ... Apples to Oranges? iTards usually try that all day long.
Junk and mediocre stuff has always outsold really good stuff, so no surprise there. This story is about some progress being made in South Korea, just like progress was finally made in the US, after people like Steve Jobs got some familiarity with BMW bikes, Porches, his VW bus, Sony, etc. Good design is starting to win big mindshare, for the first time in my 65 years of paying attention.

Uhm, in the real smartphone count, Apple outsells Samsung and all the other Android vendors combined. iPhone outsells the "premium Android phone" market. We'll have to wait to see the numbers for 2014 but last year Apple sold 150 million iPhone, Samsung 100 million "premium phones" and all the other Android vendors did not sell anywhere near 50 million.
That huge majority of "Android" phones out there are not smartphones, but are feature phone replacements, with barely adequate CPU, low RAM (for Android), and an older version of Android that will probably never be updated, and whose users probably install no additional apps.
Sure, so how many top iOS apps are running in 64 bit mode today?
You wanna count? It'll take you years until you finish. Not only 32-bit hardware is bad currently but for future proof as well especially they just release the Note NOW...yup in Nov 2014. I would not complain if it's Galaxy S5 since it's released early this year when 64-bit was not at prime time, but now...yeah Android L is 64-bit OS too.
Ironically, most of my Korean friends have mentioned that Samsung is NOT popular in their own country because they got into a position of dominance years ago then let those areas stagnate while also jacking up prices.
Supposedly LG is more popular.
LG is not. If you watch Korean TV drama series, every single character in the movies from a CEO of a corporate to a maid uses Samsung phones...lol.

Well, of course.
That is called product placement and companies like Samsung pay big money for it. However, there's a difference between what is paid for in the films and what is used by the ordinary person in the street.
Anyway I'm not saying there are more people using LG than Samsung. I'm saying that, of all of the Korean friends that I know, they have reported that Samsung is nowhere near as popular in their home country as people may think.

OMG...only idiots think those $49-$99 android junks sold in Walmart are counted as smart phones and comparable to iPhone. It's like comparing graphite to diamond...yup, they have the same chemical elements.

Can those junk phones run apps, connect to the Web etc then they are smartphones. But unless your a complete idiot then you'd expect them to perform at a lower level than the iPhone (current model or even a few generations ). Top premium phone smokes budget model, who'd have thunk it!!!!
Wait - are we comparing preorders of 6 (phone) and 6 plus (phablet) to just the Samesung phablet? I love a win for Apple, but this is apples and oranges (no pun intended)!unless they add the S5 to the total.
