we have a student DJ do our dances but he's actually a DJ, you know with equipment and a job. For the prom we don't have that. Why would a student want to spend his prom playing the music anyways. have fun. you shouldn't have to work your own prom

That's interesting, you're high school prom won't have a professional DJ and my JUNIOR high prom had a professional. I know you said there aren't many people, but not too many people went to the J.H. Prom so that's why I find that weird.
hah i dont sound that stupid, i think the fact that your school has someone to play MP3s at a dance is more stupid. My school is cheap and we still have real djs. as for that baytek thing, wow 99 bucks for that is quite expensive, i have NO idea why they charge so much for something that doesnt even beatmatch for you.

Think of it this way. There are 60 kids in the Junior class. A DJ costs like $800. The ballroom and other stuff costs thousands more. By having a student DJ, the cost is lower and the ticket prices aren't so outrageous. Remember, when there are less people going, the price per ticket is higher.
Well, it looks like it's back to the Bondi Blue keyboard for a while

OK, but a sstudent DJ playing MP3s and using iTunes visuals is stupid, even if it was just an idea.
I one time was a DJ for my brothers party. I brought my iMac and a nifty converter and hooked it up to the speaker system. I used SoundJam MP to make custom playlists and show visualizations. I worked very well, and everyone loved being able to choose their favorite music off my master playlist.
The only positive side to using an imac in my opinion is to be able to stick simpletext on in the middle of the prom and get that Steven Hawking voice to start rapping!
(if anyone thinks this would be funny, check out This site and find the 'E=MC Hawking' Mp3 quality!
Still on the subject of keyboards, if anyone has lost any large sums of money, or a McDocnalds happy meal, wedding rings etc, check under the keys..I just cleaned mine...Filthy!!!!!!!

New iMac, meaning new keyboard, right? It's already broken. I hope my White Pro Keyboard lasts longer than yours.

Just cause it was thrown out as an idea doesn't mean it's ****ing set in stone. We've heard your opinion on the iTunes shit, move on
BPMStudio Pro rocks, only problem, it's PC based, maybe VPC 5.02?
