Any channels you don't want, remove them from the main screen.
Except with every update, Apple insists on putting new channels in the 2nd and 3rd row - I had to re-do the entire layout (again) last night after an upgrade. If they want to add more channels, great, but have them auto-locate at the bottom of the roster (especially junk like this).
But more importantly, it *is* getting to be a cluttered interface. I still maintain that the "Movies" and "TV Shows" buttons should be umbrellas for all content services - e.g., if I go into "Movies" then I have choices of "iTunes", "HBO", etc.; and the same for "TV Shows" (which is even more of an obvious evolution, because "TV Shows" already has a sub-menu for specific networks).
And I desperately want pan-content search capability. So tired of looking for a movie in iTunes... then going to Netflix and having to (cumbersomely) type in the same search... nope not there, so let's try HBO... type in the same search *again*. At least *remember* my last search; but ideally, create a top-tier "Search" button, that will review all my available content.
(And this would actually be a great selling device for a lot of the AppleTV content - say I search "Billy's Big Mess", maybe the result is "'Billy's Big Mess' is availabe on iTunes, HBO, and Netflix." - in which case I'm golden, because I have subscriptions to the latter two, or can purchase/rent it on iTunes. But maybe it'll say "'Billy's Big Mess' is available on Hulu Plus." - well I don't currently subscribe to Hulu Plus, but maybe knowing I can get content I want will change my mind.)
Only with Apple products do you find people whining about how they have too much choice.
I think the complaint (at least for me) is simply that the interface is not as clean, elegant, and user-friendly as it could be - let alone as I would expect for an Apple product.

Oh, sure; I’ve never liked that top bar area myself.
