Hopefully this fixes the small reboot issue I had with my iPad Air 2. If not, I'll just pay a little visit to the nearest Apple store and get a new one I suppose.

I also have had a few reboots on the Air 2. Most (maybe all) were using a 3rd party app, the moment I touched the screen to make a selection. My guess is something to do with the A8X compatibility as it's the only non dual core device running iOS with it's awesome tri-core chipset.

I downloaded it...I have been having big problems with my iphone rebooting when I got to about 25% battery left but lately its been rebooting at 60% and will only come on if I plug it in....I hope this works....I was just about ready to reset my phone to see if that worked.

Odd. My iPhone 6's update is 64.1MB. My iPad Air's update is 364MB...both were running 8.1.

Thats what my phone is doing. Now it shuts down at 60%...was 25% a few weeks ago, but it didnt start until about a month ago. I have to plug it in to get it to come on but it comes on automatically, not like when it would die around 5%...hopefully this works

Check if your standby and usages times are the same, if so, it's probably an application that causes a memory leak, and eat

your battery even if the device is not in use (in standby mode).

I had that issue on my brand new iPhone 6, and apparently an AMEX application which I installed caused it, once removed, the battery usage became normal again.

Perhaps check the Battery Usage statistics for what is using your power: my 5s shows nothing like that sort of drain, it's improbable they're all that different. Currently 55 minutes of usage, 4 hours standby with 88% remaining and my indicator has to get to 1% or less before it shuts down. With iOS 8.1 (12B411)

    That's a feature! <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

Is that 8.1.1? Let me finish updating my Air and I'll see if mine does it.

That was there in 8.0. I was testing to see if they fixed it in 8.1.1. Obviously not. Text selection hasn't been fixed either.

Yep, selection issues remain. Have you tried a reset by holding down the home and power buttons until the Apple logo comes up? I don't have that browser issue.

So you don't have that issue when the keyboard is on screen and you click on the share sheet icon? I only encounter the issue when the keyboard is present.

Oh, looks like I do. I rarely use that menu though, that's why I hadn't noticed it.

If you move the sheet screen it corrects itself though.

Update crashed my iPad 2... resorting to factory settings... sigh...

I use it for 1Password. That's how I came across it.

iOS 8 has been one big mess from the start. Apple needs to start separating the software releases from the hardware releases and bring the software out ONLY when it's finished. These bugs we've been seeing should have been fixed before gen-pop release.

How awesome is it that Apple cares about legacy devices? Are you gonna get that kind of support from Android?

Updated my iPad2, took maybe half hour, not glitches.

No problems after update as best I can tell but then I never had any problems - reboot, etc. - before either.

My experience is that iOS 8 has been excellent on my iPad2 and I sympathize with those who seem to have those various confabulations.

Probably. It wasn't like this before 8.0 though. How much did it cost to replace the battery?

    Too early to tell

You have a later model one, perhaps? The second revision of most devices usually is a bit better, as the CPU is on a smaller process node and doesn't throttle as much.

Apple's running an iPhone 5 battery replacement program, it should be free.
