You really never stop managing to surprise, even when it seems you've hit rock bottom. You always find somewhere lower to go.

His joke got lost in translation.

One of Google's strategies is to trick iOS users to download their apps from the iOS appStore, e.g., by highlighting and putting in prominent places buttons that achieve this. The button for the logical (and most used) next step is often de-emphasized and put in the wrong place. For example: on the (basically useless) splash page, you have the "download mobile app". When one wants to logout of the gmail web page, the sign out button sometimes is out of sight, and encumbered by a button to join Google .
Besides, their mobile apps use a style that is very wasteful with screen real estate and litters the page with unwanted features, overreactive buttons, again, to trick the user into doing more things the Google way.
This is so annoying. IMHO the nicest apps do only a few things, but they do them well.

I just experienced something of that sort from Google a couple days ago. My email address is with gmail. I sent off some email and got a pop-up from Google that told me I was using an unsecure mail app (Apple Mail) and I should switch to a more secure app, and then the message suggested the Google Mail app. Whoa, talk about being cheeky!!

I would not use Google frameworks for iOS in my apps.

Google always has an ulterior motive, so stay away from their bait.

Just remember why Apple Map exists today and why Samsung wants to build it's own OS.

Apple should just reject these apps made with this Google garbage.

And they need to reject apps that don't follow Apple's UI guidelines. All that Google Material crap is making iOS apps look like Android apps.

That is true. I don't think Apple enforces UI guidelines. It's why Microsoft apps look like Metro UI and Goog apps look like Lollipop. And some third party iOS apps look absolutely horrid, like they written by Visual Basic developers from an IT department.

For the answer, watch porch philosophers struggle with this on YouTube:

It's a trick question, Route 85 is only about 30 miles.  It would take 21 minutes 10.5 seconds.  Of course, it's pretty tough to maintain 85mph the entire route without hitting traffic or getting pulled over.

    Funny!

That's what comes from listening to rap music instead of getting an education.

Educated people listen to rap music too.

    *facepalm*

Hmmm. Isn't there a rule on no objective, informed non-anti-Google comments here?  Should I report you to the admins....?? ;)

You didn't get the memo? The rule is against objective, informed anti-Apple comments.

I'd hate to be the person at google who came up with that barge idea....

Not all engineers are Dilbert. Someone has to be Wally. Or Schmidt.
