There are several reasons to move the logo: 1, when you wear a badge necklace, it will not cover up the logo. 2, consistency, when you have different styles such t-shirt, polo, even a sweater or a jacket, you don't have to change the location of the logo. 3, people are already in the Apple store, you don't need the Ironman in-your-face size logo, you just needed a gentle indicator who works for Apple.
Fashion is going to be very important for Apple now that Apple Watch is on the menu. Overall, I like it.
FYI: The correct term is "lanyard" (ID worn around the neck).
And if they came in from their break with a foetor of cigarette smoke they would also be protected by law if they were old enough to legally smoke cigarettes? Alcohol is also legal, so should employees be allowed to come to work drunk? Exactly what law protects employees from companies that expect their staff to be presentable to customers?
It's a confusing issue with many aspects that have yet to be addressed actually so I may have been incorrect in my previous post:
I believe the logo will be smaller and to the left (of the wearer). It looks fine to me but I hope its not sliding towards 'corporate'. The standard position for a company logo or 'badge' is to the left, and smaller.
That's what it looks like to me. I much preferred the logo in the middle because that's where the heart is and Apple's logo suits that position, it looked much more friendly. Now the logo is over the lung and the lanyard string will cut over it (they might not have lanyards any more though, which would be good).
With it in the middle, it would be difficult to have buttoned shirts but have two designs. Both with small logos but put the non-button shirt logo over the middle and the button shirts over to the left. The button people can be the heartless corporate types and the non-button people will be the ones I want to talk to.
Did I read somewhere she's dropping the name tags? If so that is a mistake IMHO, I like being able to see their names.
I think it can lead to unnecessary complaints. We've seen people on the forum come here and complain about a particular employee trying to get them fired. Employees don't know customers' names so it makes things a bit one-sided. I don't really have a preference one way or the other, I don't think I've ever referred to an employee in any store by name. The only time I'd feel the need to is if I wanted to be condescending to an employee or report them.
True but if he has a MMJ card then Apple could face complications in terminating the employee I would suspect
Apple wouldn't have any issues terminating an employee for weed. It's still illegal under federal law. Plus, employers have a right to terminate for a failed drug test.

Well, more to the point Apple may have a rule that an employee may not report for work under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Violate that and you'll be shown the door.
I would not be to proud of your boasting you smoke a lot of weed. Eventually your psychological behavior will go to numbness of your thinking capacity. You are inhaling poison in your system.
I actually like the centered logo better. Other than that, this seems a lot like a new executive with a background in fashion and a humongous sign-on bonus making a change for the sake of change. I'd have expected something more significant.
I would expect Angela has been involved in more than just moving the logo, but the reason the logo was moved is because they wanted to introduce the polo shirts where a centered logo would not work because of the buttons. For the sake of consistency the logos on all shirts including the tees were moved as well.

Yep. I'm sure all employees signed a document that they have read the store policies book. I would imagine it says in there you can't show up to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Where do you get your info from, Reefer madness? " src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
I'll be just fine, and I do not share your concerns. Quite the contrary.
Wow, this post has gone of on a strange weed based tangent.
As for he actual article, while new shirts are fine, I hope she starts tacking some of the bigger issues in the stores. The one I used to go to in Valley Fair, San Jose has become an unpleasant experience. There are far too many staff, who spend far too much of their time talking to each other. Even when the store is busy. The whole thing isn't nearly as slick as you would expect from Apple.
It was the same in Berkeley a couple of months ago (where I bumped into Jony Ive across the street!) Lots of staff, but no assistance.
I've got in the habit now of just going to the store at Infinite Loop if I need anything, but would like to be able to get things at the store closest to my house.
Ask to speak to the manager on duty. That is completely unacceptable for any retail operation, let alone the Apple Store.
I would instead take the guy aside and suggest he be more careful - I'd give him a chance to clean it up on his own. He could be 19 years old and in his first job.
Moving logo to center of T-Shirt. Angela is worth every cent of 74 mil/ year
It's not $74 million a year, not even close. Most of that figure was as a replacement for Burberry stock options she was giving up by coming to Apple, and will be paid out over several years only if she continues to work there.

How do you know what cannabis smells like? Are you sure that wasn't the store manager, they have different shirts:

For someone that smokes plenty of weed you sure post like an angry curmudgeon. My suggestion is to smoke more and/or better weed.
I smoke mostly only top shelf stuff, and even when I smoke, that doesn't mean that I will turn into an ignorant liberal or something like that.
My current selection for the month consists of some "Cheese" and some "OG Kush".

You seem to be proof that cannabis causes delusions in some people.

Some of my best and most coherent posts are written "under the influence".

Great choices. I knew I liked you for more than just Apple products
