If Android was meant to facilitate copying of the iPhone by Chinese manufacturers, why was it only until recently that Chinese manufacturers were taking market share?

So buy v2 then; why are you boring everyone with your distaste?
Incidentally, Apple did not state 1 day battery life in the announcement, all information about battery has been gleaned from subsequent interviews and informal comments.

Actually, Tim Cook has said that you'll get 1 day out of it.
In the announcement? I don't believe he did. If you can point me to the time stamp of the point in the announcement where he said that then I'd appreciate it.
It is because everyone's interested in anything Apple while they don't care one bit about anything from other company. They use Apple in the title as clickbait even if the article barely is related to Apple.
I see this in so many Blogs. If you want to drive more clicks and posts on your Blog, just throw up some more Apple topics. The Apple haters can't help themselves and click on them and then do the same old bitching. Generally why there's so many Apple topics. Well because you clicked and then you posted!!! That's making the blog money!!! You look in the Android topics and they're almost dead. It's like the Android fandroids care so much about Apple and are supposedly experts on everything Apple though are almost completely wrong or with outdated Info from a few iOS updates ago. They just keep passing the same garbage from one to another. Many still think you need to use iTunes!!! Every Blog does this, even the ones devoted to Android only still bring up Apple.

He made a very loose comment days or weeks later to the WSJ or The Verge.
His exact comment was, ""I think given my own experience, and others around it, that you're going to wind up charging it every day. Because you're going to use it so much. Overnight - that's what we think.”
Let's remember is one hell of an active guy so if he can get a day of use from 4am until 9pm, from a 6 month old statement, and a lot of "showing off the device" then I's think the naysayers here will be able to get days of activity.
How's that? I never said I had an advanced release of the Apple Watch. I'm just going on what Tim Cook has publicly stated the battery life of the thing is.
When one of your goals for the device on your wrist is a silent alarm to wake you, battery life of > 1 day is pretty important, so that's a pretty major shortcoming in my view.
Sarcasm is lost in this one. You don't know what else it can do yet. If your wife's primary must-have is a silent alarm when sleeping, it's not for her. However it's not a major shortcoming. Just like copy/paste wasn't a major shortcoming for the iPhone. Hate to tell you this but your wife probably isn't representative of the majority of potential users.

I know that, I'm just pointing out the inaccuracy of the claim that Tim Cook said this in the ?Watch announcement presentation; stated twice now.

Well, at least the article starts with the word "Opinion." By the way, internet is supposed to be capitalized.

And Abraham's should have started with FRAUD / FUD / LiES / etc, take your pick...

Well if you're criteria was based solely on its look, then I agree there is more then enough info to make such a superficial decision not to buy it.
The decision is not superficial at all, as a matter of fact, I like the AW a lot.
But its dimensions are not so likeable, its much to bulky and has a thickness of more than 10 mm.
(You can infer that from Apples online AW images, remember everything is relative.)
I will wait for the third generation when the thickness is below 4 mm and one charge is enough for a week or so.

I tweeted this to Michael Hiltzik:
And he blocked me. Everyone should do the same - this guy is a big baby.
He did not.
