The Whole Pantry vanishes from App Store, Apple Watch app showcase
Apple has removed an app called The Whole Pantry from the App Store and the Apple Watch app showcase, following recent controversy surrounding its backer, Australian healthy-living celebrity Belle Gibson.
The Sydney Morning Herald noted on Wednesday that Gibson has been accused of lying about having cancer, and failing to give promised money to charities. The US and Australian publishers of her first cookbook -- also called The Whole Pantry -- have scrapped plans for the book's launch.
The Herald added that Gibson was one of a relative handful of outside developers to be flown in to Apple to work with the Watch pre-release. She was supposed to make an announcement at Apple's March 9 press event, but both Gibson and her app were missing.
At the time of the Herald's report, The Whole Pantry was already gone from the US and Australian App Stores, but had yet to be removed from Apple's Watch app showcase. That discrepancy has since been fixed, although the title is still being sold on Google Play for the time being.
The iOS app provided help with healthy cooking and eating. The companion Watch app would have enabled step-by-step guidance through recipes, as well as a gauge for the amount of time needed to finish cooking.
Gibson's fame is largely built on claiming to have recovered from brain cancer without normal medical treatments. Last week, however, she said she may have been misdiagnosed, and medical experts have called her stories of multiple cancers unlikely. Since then Gibson has allegedly received threats and had her home address published online, but one claim made by Gibson -- that her son's childcare details have been leaked -- has been disputed by the Daily Mail, citing no evidence from Gibson.

Now, let's see Uber destroyed.
So she's kinda like the Food Babe, another unauthoritative source that way too many people trust.
Some people are just dumber than they look.
Stop the insanity!
Why? Drunk driving accidents have dropped by nearly 20% since it entered several markets over the last couple years. The vast majority of the time it's cheaper/faster/cleaner than a taxi. Do you have stock in taxi companies?
I'd never heard of this dumb broad before, but all fraudsters and criminals should be prosecuted and placed behind bars, cancer or no cancer.
“One is secondary and the other is primary. I have cancer in my blood, spleen, brain, uterus, and liver. I am hurting.”
And all of that cancer was cured by merely eating healthy? Hahahahaha." src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
And people fell for that?

i agree with @GregInPrague why destroy something that can truly benefit people. Don't get me wrong UBER has drastic room for improvement, but as a driver i love it. i hated waiting for taxi's and having to call a cab the day before to set up appointments when i have to go into work early which they may or may not remember. It's refreshing knowing that you don't have to worry about going to a bar to hang out and not being able to drink in fear of a DWI. so many of my friends already have them that i don't even have a beer when i drive anymore. NYC police are already crazy i don't push my luck.
That's actually possible. You know NOTHING about healthy eating. It's obvious. So don't talk about something you know nothing about.

It's also in the range of highly unlikely to next-to-impossible.
Cancer that is present in so many places at once is also (90% if not 100% probability) metastatic cancer. And by then it's at an advanced stage (usually stage 4.)
Good luck with all the "healthy eating." For the sake of being fair and allowing for small miracles, it's not "impossible." But every such claim is and should be regarded as dubious *way* before we take it at face value.

You know NOTHING about what I know or don't know about healthy eating. For lunch today, I had a nice juicy hamburger and fries, and I followed it up by vaping some nicotine e juice and then had weed for desert.
If you ever get cancer in your blood, spleen, brain, uterus and liver, just eat healthy, and all will be cured. Let me know how that works out for you.
Are you one of those crazy people that is anti-vaccine too, and that would let their children die, because of their stupidity and ignorance?" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
There's a special place in hades for people like this especially if people refused treatment that would have saved their life.
Oh, I see what you did there. Well played, sir.

You have to realize that there are certain people on this forum that automatically knee-jerk and must disagree with any comment that I make, no matter what the topic." src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

That is not true, I am sure they rationally consider their response before posting....." src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />
I do think the healthy diet will do more for you BEFORE the cancer comes. It could be our chemical addiction that adds to cancer these days. You know, additives, preservatives, etc.

I could probably benefit from knowing a little bit more about healthy eating; however, I can confidently claim that you know NOTHING about cancer if you actually think that healthy eating is a reasonable way to treat it.
That's all well and good, but the disputed thesis is that healthy eating can cure cancer. As far as I'm aware there is precisely zero scientific support for such a claim.

I have never considered this aspect of the watch before, but this does sound like a great use for it.

Don't respond to the trolls... it only encourages them.
I didn't even understand your post at first because B. Frost has been in my block list for so long ;-)
It is a shame she sold a valid concept - eating non processed whole foods - with a lie.
She ought to seek professional help as her whole life is a web of lies.
