Interesting that the S6 reviews show no mention of its protruding camera

There will never be trolling about Samsung's protruding camera lens. It's only wrong when Apple does it™.

Oh, the nasty camera bump! Fixed battery and no memory card expansion! I'll bet it bends like butter, too.
Only Android sheep buy electric nightmares like the S6.

Embracing Android shields you from criticism and "-gate" controverseies.

LMAO! What design efforts? Are they referring to Jonny Ive or what?

What's with all the consolation and back-patting by you Apple fans here?

The Galaxy S6 is clearly an excellent piece of hardwar, and it sounds like even Samsung's software is greatly improved. You're calling it an iPhone copy because it has a glass back and speaker ports on the bottom--seriously? Did you forget how Apple blatantly "copied" phablets and large screens in general last year? How about drop down notifications, drop down settings control center, customizable keyboard, or the oft-apple fan hated AMOLED display supplied by LG in the new Apple watch?

There is nothing wrong with the iPhone 6, but it clearly has an inferior display and overall inferior hardware... 1gb of ram is not cutting it for today's multi tasking needs. Will you call Apple a copycat when they finally bump up screen resolution, RAM specs, and use AMOLED displays? I doubt it.

Why is this news worthy?  Why not just get the real deal instead of the copy? Especially since the copy cost the same price?  It would make sense if these phones were $200 cheaper like those Xiaomi POS phones.

Unless you are in love with Android there is literally no reason to get these phones.

The S6 Edge is a joke.  It distorts the screen at the edges so perfect circles or squares are not perfect.  I don't want websites/videos to be distorted like a circus mirror.

Not just the distortion, but the constant glare of light reflecting off the curves at all angles.  S6 Edge owners will find themselves constantly micro-adjusting the angle at which they hold it in order to find an angle that doesn't cause glare at the side edges.  If Apple were inclined to acknowledge the competition, this would be great fodder for an iPhone versus Edge commercial, ala the old Mac versus PC commercials.

A device that seems to be quite irrelevant with no USP.

Only poor people and luddites will have these.

I know quite a few people with supposedly top-end Samsung phones and they all seem really clunky from my observations of them being "used" - the owners don't mind too much because they consider them cheap throw away items not luxury goods for discerning professionals lol

It's like saying Audi fans have been waiting for years for the Koreans to copy Audi designs, and now that Hyundai has, they can't wait to dump their Audi for a Hyundai.

Watched the Verge review video. Basically every single statement was prefaced with "for Android", or "for Samsung", always in that context. Best looking Samsung phone ever! Great camera for an Android phone! He didn't give a single reason why someone should buy this over the iPhone, or a single advantage. Literally every single aspect is worse, at least in terms of useability. Specs are irrelevant. Apparently, it somehow still lags.

Tech sites seem to praise whatever Samsung is doing, even if that is an about-face from what they've done before. Samsung deserves praise for being plastic and replaceable betteries and micro SD cards and they also deserve praise for not doing those things. Typical goal post moving.

It's actually quite embarrassing. And most GS6 reviews I've read have zero focus on ecosystem. It's basically 'ooh shiny new glass and metal' and 'a little bit less Touchwiz'. And nothing about Samsung Pay.

But it's aluminum and glass! And the curved edges are sexy (so say Verge comments section). To me it still looks decidedly Samsung with that tacky chrome around the 'home' button and camera. What I find pathetic is all these tech sites had a go at Apple for the camera 'bump' on the iPhone 6 yet say nothing about the enormous one on the GS6. Same with the front bezels. Everyone complained about the screen to bezel ratio when the 6 and 6 Plus launched (and said Apple needed to ditch the physical home button) but not a peep with the GS6.

The interesting thing here is that everybody seems to be patting each other on the back, talking about how uninteresting and irrelevant the S6 is and how it's not better than the iPhone 6 in anyway, yet there's 33 replies to this article.

If there is one thing unquestionably better about the Galaxy S6, it's the display-- every single article and objective measure out there acknowledges that, yet no one here does.

Further, we here commenter after commenter talking about how Sammy copied Apple, and that no one would want this copycat device... one dude even goes as far as to say this phone that is priced the same or more than the iPhone 6 is for "luddites and the poor"-- get over yourself, anything in the sub-1000 dollar range doesn't define what class someone is in!

I'd also like to point out some areas where Apple "copied" Android/Samsung-- larger screen displays, phablets, drop-down notifications menu, drop-down settings toggles, multi-tasking support (which is still poorly implemented on iOS in large part due to 1gb of ram), AMOLED displays in the new Apple Watch, customizable keyboards....

Will you call Apple out when they upgrade ram specs past 1GB, put an AMOLED display in the iPhone, finally implement OIS, implement wireless charging, fast-charging features, split-screen apps... I'm tired of typing :)

    Metal phone, huh?

Apple says welcome to 2007, Samsung. Seriously.

    The Wall Street Journal...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Review: The iPhone 6 Has Met Its Match
A better camera, sharper display and faster charging put Samsung%u2019s new flagship phones ahead in the smartphone race

    http://www.wsj.com/articles/samsung-galaxy-s6-review-the-iphone-6-has-met-its-match-1427825674

    And that without even considering...

more power processor, better battery life, triple the memory (3 GB vs 1 GB), DDR4 vs DDR3 memory (faster and lower power consumption), UFS 2.0 NAND flash memory (20-30 times faster than ANY other phone iPhone or Android), dual mode wireless charging, Samsung pay that works on NFC AND magstripe POS terminals (virtually any merchant that accepts credit card payments), etc., etc., etc.,

I would love to see Apple step up it's hardware game to provide real competition to the S6. With Apple's proprietary processor designs and amazing OS/App/Hardware integration if Apple rolls out competing hardware I think everyone's jaw would be on the floor. Until then, I find it difficult to understand how the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 can be similarly priced. It only makes sense if Samsung is charging far less than their hardware is worth or Apple is charging far more.

The lack of a micro SD slot is not surprising. Google dropped support for external storage with KitKat for app installation, Play movie, music, and book storage. To the average non-techie an SD slot is worthless.
