Instead the Moto360 lies FLAT like a pancake and makes the watch look as thick as a hockey puck. Its just horrible design. Even cheapo chinese watch brands know this. Its as if a 10 year old designed the Moto.
Motorola must be listening to you, or at least others with a similar opinion of the band. Reportedly they've changed it for the new model. The bigger problem is that Android Wear is nowhere near as capable today as iOS on the Apple Watch. Of course there's an upcoming Google event so perhaps they have some well-needed additions to reveal. Don't know.
Not long before Fandroids call the Apple Watch watch faces "stale" and "boring" while they all crow about the heavily skeumorphic watch faces that try to mimic the look of analog watches. Like that one.
The Moto 360, along with all the other junker Android Wear devices, ARE flat tires! I've seen a 360 in person, what an UGLY piece of shit!
Seriously, why are people so damn defensive and irate about a competing product? It's just a smartwatch, yet people are calling it downright ugly and a piece of s**t as if the Moto 360 kicked your momma in the face " src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" /> The design preference for one device over another is something that's not concrete or something as simple as "Right or Wrong."
I can never understand people that have such hostile, mean-spirited hatred for anything that is different from what they like. With that said, I'm glad that there is some variety in the design of the smartwatches available to people. Things would be pretty boring if there were only square-face or only circular-faced smartwatches on the market. But luckily, just like the traditional watch market, there are a wide variety of designs to choose from to suit your own personal taste.

I've been saying this all along. There's no doubt that the Moto and many others are not executed as well as the ?Watch, but we're talking about case design. Apple is certainly going to do a round watch better than any of these. And the Swiss watchmakers are likewise going to bring a level of competition to Apple's design and build quality that no other competitor ever has, least of all Motorola and Samsung. Apple has done what it always does, raise the bar for its competitors.
Sorry, I missed your earlier request. It was very early this morning when I read it. . . I think. Right of I don't remember it it was here, at 9-5, or maybe TechCrunch or where but I'll see if I can look back in my history and find it. The gist of it was that because scheduling has to be done so far out, particularly with venues, that sometimes Mr Cook has to announce/present things dictated by the time set aside/reserved weeks or months in advance rather than when the product is actually ready to roll.
I don't have the specs in front of me but how much thicker is the Moto 360 compared to the Apple Watch?
Or Is it simply perceived thicker, because the band comes from the bottom instead of the sides of the watch face?
Moto 360 is 11.5mm thick
Apple Watch is 10.5mm thick
I think it's partly down to how the sensor in the Apple Watch is separated so it is lifted up off the wrist and the edges are curved:
You can see the Asus watch vs Apple one here:
and Asus vs Moto here:
At 4:30, you can see the profiles of each. The Asus is 9.4mm so thinner than the Apple Watch but also has rounded edges that are 7.9mm. If they tapered the edge of the 360 a bit more, maybe pulled in the sensor at the base, it would look slimmer.
I went ahead and bit the bullet. Best Buy is currently running a promo where you buy a Moto 360 with any Android phone and you get $100 off. This is in addition to the $179 sales price.
So I picked up a silver Moto 360 with brown leather band for $179.99 and an el cheapo prepaid ZTE Zinger Android smartphone for $39.99. Total came to $119.98 after $100 instant discount. Gonna throw the damn ZTE Zinger on eBay and I'll have a brand new Moto 360 to play around with for less than $100 out of pocket.
That's my kind of deal! And if the Android Wear iOS companion app actually comes out, SCORE!

That's exactly what happened: Perception! "look" bulky and thick. So here is why? Apple watch had bands fit in middle of the case while Moto360 has its bands fit at the bottom, flat with the case. Oh, talking 42mm Apple watch size as big, you got to see the 46mm Moto360 especially on a woman's wrist.

First of all, the Moto 360 is basically an aluminum slab punched to look like a circle. In fact, with the chamfered edges, it actually looks like a iPhone 5/5S turned into a circle. It has no defining characteristics, or "charisma" if you want to call it. Even a mid-range Seiko has more defining qualities and looks than that thing. Hell, the LG G Watch looks better IMO.
Second, it's running Android, enough said. The implementation of AW's gestures, interface, and overall lack of anything compelling, makes it DOA, which has been demonstrated by their sales thus far, a long flat line.

Typical Android buyer, went for the cheap, typical.

Wait a second, you're talking to a long-time Apple Insider member that has been on this site for nearly seven years, is a diehard Apple fan that happens to have an open mind about competing products.
I bought the Moto 360 because I personally think that it looks good and it would be nice to test out with my work phone, which is an Android-based LG G3. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And since the price was right, I feel that I'm not really "wasting money" on something that will mainly be paired with a work device (i.e., I'm not getting reimbursed by my company for purchasing the Moto 360).
And this thread is about the Moto 360; of course I'm going to talk about the Moto 360 in a thread about the Moto 360. My only point of contention is that life is too short to get worked and vehemently foam at the mouth at everything the competition puts out there. Not everything is us versus them. Reminds me of the crazy yokels that yell at each other over who makes the best full-size pickup truck: Ford, General Motors, or Dodge.

Mazda 3s has only been partaking in the discussion, no flaming or trolling. People come here for an interest in Apple and related technology, they don't come here to distort the truth and breed hatred.

So basically what they're saying is the only way someone would buy this over ?Watch is if it's dirt cheap?
Yup. The same people who bought android junks.
Apple must be doomed!!....(or wait a minute, maybe that means competitors are screwed!!??)
