Answer: They are rich, own a large business that did not offer health insurance before, have a financial stake in a healthcare provider. Or... you just support whatever Fox news tells you to.

If you are a senior, middle class, a poor person or a female the Affordable Care Act is a very good thing for you. In fact for many people who had private insurance before the Act was passed, have much better healthcare now compared to what they had before, because the minimum care standards are higher, plus, there are many more healthcare options and better protection of your rights such as guaranteed coverage for existing conditions.

There are also many cost cutting measures provided by the Act which has slowed the rate of medical costs.

You must be getting your information from CNN or MSNBC. Your statement is highly inaccurate. Most people, including myself, who had private insurance before now have more expensive insurance with less coverage. The Affordable Care Act is awful. The proof is already out there the law is doing the exact opposite of what Obama was claiming, that insurance would be more affordable. Fact is insurance premiums have gone up in the majority of  states. 13 states, premiums have gone up by 50%. Another bad thing with this law is deductibles have skyrocketed for millions of people. Just look at the polls of who favor this law. They keep getting lower and lower. Last Gallup poll I saw at the end of 2014, only 37% of Americans favor Obamacare. Go ahead and continue drinking your Obama Kool-aid.

What I find interesting in that all the time Android had their smartwatches around, NO ONE gave it any serious thought whatsoever.  Apple watch just gets introduced, and folks are paying attention to it and ideas are coming out from it.

Why is Android watches stillborn?  Because they're crap.  Period.  Everyone, except for Fandroids, know Android watches are barely any more useable than a standard analog watch.  Fandroids will simply revert to their tired and worn-out excuse that Apple Watch is only popular due to marketing and nothing more.  Wrong... again.

I'm still not for replacing ACA with Apple Watches. You do know that ACA covers those less privileged, the poor, those that need our help, right?!

Wait...what?...the Federal Gov't will subsidize my Apple Watch? So I can get the Apple Watch for "free"?

F-ck ACA, give me the Apple Watch.

This is true, because the cost of health insurance continues to increase. I still have the same coverage I have had for 15 years and it has gone up every year at about the same rate of increase due to a number of factors. Just because people who were already paying for their insurance had their rates go up doesn't mean that all or any of the increase was due to the Affordable Care Act.

I'm not sure why you have less coverage. It should be the same or better. Otherwise why did you not continue with your old coverage as I did?

When you say private insurance, what do you mean? You find an insurance broker and have them create a specialized medical insurance package just for you?

The ACA is a bargain for many people, especially those who have been sick with cancer and other types of expensive illnesses. Before the ACA, insurance companies could deny coverage so these people either died or they got welfare level coverage. Now they can be covered. The rates are based on age, younger people pay less and older people pay more. This has been a boon for underpaid graduates, working people without coverage, and everyone except rich people who complain about paying for anything. If Gallup asked people if they favored the ACA, 90% of them wouldn't know what that was. They don't like it because it has our current President's name attached to it and don't understand what it does in the first place. Individual insurance is always more expensive and I'd bet that most people who get insurance through their workplace think they are part of ACA. Except for small companies, they aren't. Add all the negative, rich Republican negativity and of course people already have their minds made up without even investigating it. It's been great for my 30 year old daughter who's seeing her coverage go up while her premium goes way down.

As for the Apple Watch being a better way to handle medical needs, Jeb Bush needs to get his head examined. Oh wait, maybe there's an app for that!!!!

If he was against the bill that was passed, I fail to see how that’s idiocy.

It’s unaffordable, there’s no care, and it was an illegal act.

    You’re completely and utterly delusional.

Said literally no one in any of those categories, ever. Try again.

For once, I agree with everything you stated.

ACA vs. Apple Watch is a false choice.

Many healthcare providers dislike the ACA because of the additional administrative burden. The general populace might be against it because the ACA has increased the demand for doctors without increasing the supply. Nurse practitioners have become higher in demand to help fill the void, but they often order more tests than necessary to cover their asses--and probably misdiagnose at a higher rate--which can increase healthcare costs beyond what doctors would cost. Furthermore, the option to receive additional Medicaid subsidies was declined by many states, leading many hospitals to incur even larger budget deficits and requiring them to reduce services, due to their providing healthcare to even more uninsured patients; taxpayers in those states will pay even more for (reduced quality/availability) healthcare because of the Federal subsidies they must still help fund in other states but that don't benefit their own state.

Or you fit into none of those demographics and just think that adding a massive government bureaucracy on top of an already convoluted, medical insurance scheme with already existing layers of government oversight/interference, will do nothing good to change the economics of medical care.

The Affordable Care Act was just a symbolic beaurocratic gesture for true believers.  The central planning zealots keep telling us to have faith in government despite all evidence to the contrary.  I think 'faith' is a poor substitute for empirical data, but that's what keeps political teams' memberships up.  Science never fills up church pews or keeps political celebrity fans engaged.

The burden of proof is on it's architects, and so far it's been an underwhelming, completely misleading piece of garbage.  It was beyond distasteful for the President to lie about being transparent about its entire contents, and then to hide the bill until it was already a done deal.  That's pure political corruption and it rests squarely on Team D this time.  So you can bury your head in the sand or wake up to the fact this was nothing but a shallow money grab under some guise of charity.

Obamacare is no better or worse "for me" than my old healthcare.... it's just MASSIVELY easier on my wallet! The fraction of my income going to healthcare was insane. Not anymore. The estimate on the gov't web site was way high as it turned out--my bill ended up lower, and benefits higher, than the estimate. And to think I saw the estimate and almost didn't bother applying.

I was also turned down for health care because I got a skull fracture in a mugging. I was insured at the time, and my skull was repaired well with no ongoing care needed. (The insurance company didn't even pay much of it, due to a high deductible.) But it's a "pre-existing condition" to one major insurer, and I was turned down the next year. That too can't happen anymore.

And now I can have an iOS device on my wrist?

We live in amazing times :)

Unless you're a veteran, the Federal government probably doesn't provide your healthcare.

Hey, getting any of a string of horrid diseases are better for you than Obamacare. Doctors and hospitals can cure those diseases, but if you don't have the proper political connections, Obamacare will consign you to a doctor and a hospital that may do use more harm than good.

I support Obamacare, but only for those who want to impose it on others. And notice, I didn't say "Just for those who want it." A host of those who support Obamacare, including congressional Democrats and their staff, are doing everything in their power to avoid being in it themselves. They know how dreadful it's going to end up.

So have you read the 1000+ pages of the bill? All you have here are the Fox News talking points.

People who say the bill should be repealed haven't said where the billions of dollars necessary to do that will come from. I am not claiming that there are not some problems, but the Act is very beneficial to most Americans. Regarding specific problems, there is a provision within the Act where an oversight committee will address any issues and attempt to resolve them. Repealing the entire Act is absurd.

I think you have some good points here.. but I think you are throwing a large net here over wealth. I don't think it is about how much money you have.  Some people just don't believe in the funding of any public system no matter if they are rich or poor.  Healthcare, education, police, fire.... oh except the military of course. Which I always found to be weird.

That quote, and the post, wasn't about the ACA: while my post a couple up was, and that one supports the legislation as I do in general.
