    Why would an iPhone 4 have a higher rating than a 4s?   Or a 5 higher than a 5s?

Rating user satisfaction is, at best, nebulous. There is no standard or benchmark to measure against, and it's nearly impossible to know each individual respondent's requirements for being "satisfied." As other's have pointed out, if someone is still using a 4, there's probably a reason for it.

Another consideration not taken into account is which OS the phone is running. In all honesty, I was more satisfied with my 4S than I am with my 5S. The 5S has, for the most part, better hardware than my 4S. But iOS 6 on my 4S was far more stable than my 5S has ever been. Yes, iOS 7/8 has more capabilities (which I appreciate), but also more bugs and UI quirks that I find quite annoying. For me personally, I value the stability more than the extra features. So my personal satisfaction with the 4S is higher than with the 5S for that reason alone.

But since that is subjective, you can't ding Apple. I don't care about FM radio on my phone so it doesn't make me less satisfied.

No one is dinging Apple, this seems to be a real problem here, what can't people just except that some might actually prefer using another platform. No, it's not because their easily satisfied, don't know what their using or just idiots like some here would like you to believe, just because the phone they chose wasn't an iPhone. The truth is the iPhone is missing a lot of features that others might need or just plainly want. I don't use an iPhone because I can't run multiple apps in the background, can't choose my own default apps, when I install a new app it's a crap shoot if other apps will have it listed in their share function. So when I want send a file to someone and MS Outlook isn't listed, it's a very frustrating experience. Or when I get an invite to a web seminar and want to add it to my calendar, Sunrise is no where to be seen as a possibility. These are just a few of the reasons why I don't use an iPhone and yes I'm sure you'll come back with I don't need those things which is fine, that's why you're happy with your choice. I'm just trying to get the point across that everyone has their own expectations of what a gadget needs to do for them. Their will always be compromises to be made with any device we choose but choice has made it so that we can at least get as close to what we're looking for without the need to dismiss those core functionalities that a user needs.
