Love how everyone is expecting a 0.01 update to add a shit ton of major new user facing features. I mean, really? Expanded Siri sounds great. I expect 9.1 will bring things like bluetooth keyboard support, and maybe be released simultaneously with a new iOS app.
Although I have no doubt that the Remote App will return in time, I think it was smart of them to force everyone to USE the new Remote, instead of throwing in the drawer and falling back on their old (shitty) remote app, and then saying "Hey this thing isn't all that different!!!!"
IMO, they could have, and should have, made Siri and Dictation far more robust before doing this...but they didn't.
Speaking of using the iPhone, why in the heck does it do a bluetooth auto-setup with WiFi and then not grab iTunes and iCloud credentials?
PBluetooth is not secure. The same way it's not used to probably the same reason they

Exactly. How about they create a universal login and password the way they already do using iCloud password keychain? I suppose these issues will be addressed with their own TV streaming service but we don't have that yet and do not know when we will.
The decision is first made by Apple's own SDK. The same way they decide basic layout, UI, Siri remote support and and if the app even makes it into the store. Whether it's technically out of their control or not, they dropped the ball here because they make the hardware, OS and have the power.
Look at your cable guide and how many channels there are. Now multiply that number by 30 seconds. Are you getting it yet?
So just boycott the stations (and apps) that won't let you cut the cord. Hulu has most episodes the next day so you're not really missing much.

How do I boycott something I'm paying for and don't mind paying for? I just want fast setup on Apple TV for networks I'm already paying for. I tried Hulu and don't care for the fact that I pay for the privilege of viewing their awful commercials. That's why I don't bother with Youtube either.

So, order water instead of a tea or cola one or two times each month and pay Hulu $4 more for the no-commercial plan. You'll have a better viewing experience and live healthier at the same time!

Or just cook and eat at home to save even more. Unfortunately Hulu runs commercials over some programs too that are in the no-commercial plan so I might as well stay with cable for more choices and a DVR to skip all commercials.

There's no one more pro Apple than me but i agree, I feels like Apple released TvOS earlier than perhaps they should have. The latest minor update already added a lot it seems. I say that as I honestly don't know if I just discovered commands that were there all along or that came with the update. The problem is all the reviews that were done on a version that wasn't quite finished. I have to wonder why they didn't just delay the release till it was ready for prime time. As you say, and I agree, Siri is the key.
