    Today's Wall...

Wow. I know you all like macs and all, why else would you post here? But making a comment that a very religious and important symbol to a large portion of the readers/posters here should humble itself, even in jest, to a computer is pretty crass. I know it was most likely a joke, but even so that was pretty screwed up.

    Please...

Too much political correctness makes Concord a dull boy.

    Cheers,

    C.

I'm just saying some effort should be made to not offend. If I went around saying Allah should bow down to my left foot, I'm sure I would make more than a few people angry. Feel free to say whatever you want, I don't endeavor to restrict your rights. I'm just saying something that's so important to many people should earn a little bit of respect. I'm not crying about it, as some of you would suggest. All I'm trying to do is get you to think that maybe some comments are best left unsaid. I'll not post on it again, since this isn't the proper forum for it, and I'd ask you not to jab at my character since it isn't what was in question.

i think you just need to see it from a creative perspective. obviously that pic is not meant to suggest whatever you take offense to--its just someone with a smart mind. really you can take whatever you want from it--you could even say that it promotes christianity in a good way, showing that while we value computers, they are still not as important as God. its all a matter of interpretation, and i think it's just a good piece of art.

Another desktop pic for my G5. This image was taken in December 2002 at the place called "The New Market" in Copenhagen, Denmark.

As for the desktop on my iBook, I will keep it using the cross (at least for now) no matter what (when the new software Ilumina comes this iBook will become my electronic bible)

Sure, Asaph. And let's censor all the explicit desktops too.

Holy Batman, we have a problem! Hang on, let me call the PC Patrol. Hello? Yes, thegelding is pimping pictures of his daughters in bikinis to horny teenagers. salmonstk is posting pictures of women kissing and naked men. What has the world come to? Someone please wake me up from this AI nightmare.

If you are confident enough in your faith (whatever the hell it is), you won't be so weak as to take offense.

Thank you, salmonstk, both for your desktops and the comment regarding the cross above!

I'm funny about desktops... I use a cool picture or something, use some family photos, etc, but I always get tired of them in a day or two and go back to the default Panther desktop. *shrug*

    Here's mine at the moment:

I guess this might also count as a contribution to the AI Community pics. The big headed ogre murbot is unveiled!

Funny thing, I think the red eye on me might actually just be red eyes. This is after a few pints.

Is there ever a time when you are not "after a few pints"?

Yes, of course. That glorious moment when the first rush of ice cold beer hits the back of my throat, and both cools and energizes me as it heads to my belly.

    Ah, it's a wonderful thing.

    Oh, it's 30 SonOfSylvanus, not 40. Like 30 isn't bad enough!!
