Dead body found at Apple's Infinite Loop headquarters [ux3]

An investigation is underway after a body was reportedly discovered at Apple's Infinite Loop corporate headquarters in Cupertino.

Update: A recording of the initial dispatch call is said to point at a possible suicide in a conference room, TMZ notes:

According to the sheriff's dispatch call there was a female employee involved in an argument on the campus -- and she was being escorted out by security when she sustained a head wound ... possibly from a gunshot.

As deputies were responded, they were unclear if there were multiple people involved. One portion of the dispatch exchange describes a body being found in a conference room, and that person had a gun.

Update 2: The sheriff's office has indicated that a man who worked at Apple was found dead. There are not believed to be any other casualties.

The incident was first reported by NBC Bay Area. The investigation is being run by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

A crew from the Santa Clara County Fire Department -- which includes emergency medical services -- was reportedly dispatched to the campus, but were "waved off." It's not clear who made that call.

Apple has more than 10,000 employees in Cupertino, though most work in satellite offices outside of Infinite Loop.

Update 3: Apple has issued an official statement on the matter to BuzzFeed News.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of a young and talented coworker," said Apple spokesperson Kristin Hugue. "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends, including the many people he worked with here at Apple. We are working to support them however we can in this difficult time."

People actually die everywhere everyday. Fun fact! ...or not so fun if you happen to be the deceased.

    RIP whoever is this person.

Has nobody ever died at Apple before?, because I've been reading this site for many years and this is the first time that I can recall seeing such a headline about somebody dying. "Dead body found at" sounds like it's out of a Agatha Christie novel or something.

Why would the emergency services be waved off? That sounds a bit odd.

Probably an employee with a medical condition, perhaps a heart attack or stroke.

    RIP.

I don't understand this waved off part. Perhaps they do things a bit different in the Bay Area, but in LA the EMTs are usually the ones that declare someone deceased on scene. The police can often determined that someone has deceased but they always summon the Fire Dept. anyway, unless it is so obvious that no medical attention is necessary, such as a decomposing body, etc.

I imagine emergency medical services were waved off because the person is already dead. Medical services don't do anything for a dead body. The police will call the medical examiners office to come get the body. My guess is an employee suffered cardiac arrest and unfortunately died.

EMT here - Medical services are not called when the person in question is obviously deceased. This includes, but is not limited to: rigor mortis, obvious decomposition, cold body temperature in a warm environment, and decapitation - which would be both simultaneously awesome and horrible (probably the quarterly forecaster if this is the case).

No problem if you are the deceased. I agree it is probably not fun to be dead but equally I don't think it is not fun. Its just pretty much nothing. Not fun for the next of kin, though.

Go to TMZs site. They have police call audio describing. Might be 2 people.

    http://m.tmz.com/#article/2016/04/27/apple-campus-body-found-cupertino/

Starting to sound like a suicide or murder between several people who may have been involved there.

I'm sure this will be awesome news on top of the stock getting kicked in the teeth.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but people are obviously going to comment on this somewhat odd article.

According to the sheriff's dispatch call there was a female employee involved in an argument on the campus — and she was being escorted out by security when she sustained a head wound ... possibly from a gunshot. Doesn't sound like a "spontaneous health issue" to me. Look forward to updates on this one.
