https://nettalkconnect.com/wireless/plans/select - On the T-Mobile LTE network, but even cheaper than T-Mobile's plans. If you don't use the free international roaming option under T-Mobile (which is a stellar deal if you do travel internationally), NetTalkConnect is maybe the best deal I've seen.
I had been with AT&T since 2007 with the original iPhone (bought it 2nd day after release). I had 5 lines, 2 iPhones with unlimited data and 3 dumb phones. I really thought I would never give up my unlimited data, but once they sent me a letter last year about price increases, I finally had enough. I left them in February for T-Mobile and now I have 5 iPhones with 10GB data per line and my bill is only $180 per month compared to $230 before on AT&T. I had never used over 5GB per month anyways so I figured 10GB would be plenty. In terms of coverage, its been more or less the same since I live in a major metropolitan area, but I hear it may be worse for those who live further away from the big cities.
Another big plus for me was being able to use the phone overseas without any extra charges. I just came back from 3 weeks in Europe and wherever I went, as soon as the plane landed, I would be connected to a network and be able to use data (for free!). It's a damn great thing to have since I travel overseas a couple of times a year.
I went to AT&T store. I left the store after being told it does not the SE I wanted. I received a message from AT&T next thanking me for purchasing the Mobil Protection Plan for my two lines. The store employee did this to me after I left. I have to make three calls to customer service to completely remove it from my plan.
Call them and tell them you are leaving for a lower cost provider. I did that and I'm paying just slightly higher than t-mob would charge. About $160 for four lines.
AT&T was such a hassle to leave with iPhone. I went in to their store to unlock my iPhone that was now completely paid for and they said I could only do that online and it make take up to two weeks. I said "you have to be kidding me right". When I talked to a few other patrons that were looking at iPhones I told them my story and the store manager promptly told me he would call the police on me. I didn't believe him but the police showed up for and the officer took my side but said they have the right to refuse business and could force me out of their building. I will NEVER do business with AT&T again.
I don't blame them for throwing you out. You seem like a nasty person.
They will have to lean a lot in my favor for me to be able to afford one of those expensive phones. Like give me one for free. And not the cheap 16 GB model, the full 128 GB model or better.
I've been with AT&T years before the iPhone, and I bought an original iPhone the week it was released. They keep raising their prices for the same (or less) service. If AT&T doesn't lower their prices and become more competitive, my new iPhone 6s will be my last AT&T phone. I'd even be willing to give up my original iPhone grandfathered unlimited data plan.
Been AT&T customer for 12 years until last month. Completely agree with you. Its interesting to see that I am not the only one who had enough and has left. AT&T has no one to blame but their own greed.
It's not "greed". They are in competition with other providers, some of which are in continual financial distress and are willing to take a loss upfront in order to acquire more customers. Yes, I'm looking at you, T-mobile and Sprint.

Don't. Many reviews show that ATT is consistently the fastest and most stable service of all carriers.
And there are NO immediate plan for any carriers to offer unlimited data plans. Bandwidth costs money - just because they can transmit the data over the air (radio) doesn't make it "unlimited" or "free."

Online is the way to unlock. Fill out the form, they approve, then send data to Apple. Do a tethered reset and it pops up "unlocked" on the screen.
You were given the process to follow to get what you wanted. Why not just follow it? If you had done it, your phone would be unlocked by now I bet.
i doubt the the police took your side on a side note.

I am never buying a phone from AT&T again. The first time I tried to get them to unlock my 4 year old, completely out of contract, iPhone 4 was "denied" because I'd had "too many unlock requests" that year. Zero is too many? Finally got it unlocked by speaking to an AT&T rep.
The second phone, also out of contract, took a month to unlock. The website continually had an "unexpected error." Calling a representative didn't work, because they use the exact same website that customers use, and it got the same error for them. I finally went into the store, where they got the same error. But by then I was fed up. Loudly, I said, "If my phone, which is paid for and no longer under contract, is not unlocked when I leave here, my next call will be to the Commonwealth Attorney General's office to file a complaint about your failure to comply with the law." Amazing how quickly the problem was resolved after that.
Mind you, I don't really know if the law would have fully supported me in that instance, but I didn't care.
As someone who upgrades every year AT&T no longer makes any sense. Going straight to Apple for their program this Fall.
Still on AT&T, but bought the phone using Apple's Upgrade Plan for 2 of our family phones. As soon as the other 2 phones are off the AT&T plan, will be shifted the last phones to Apple Uograde plan. This will make us free of AT&T expensive shankles and then we can move to other providers. I too had been Apple customer since the first IPhone and unlimited data plan, but with more people in my family wanting the phones I had to let go of that unlimited plan - was disappointed that AT&T didn't let me keep my plan. I am done with AT&T soon.
I agree...ATT is the world's largest VIRUS!! I not only quit their Cell service but also quit their home service...Ooma rocks for a land line for a fraction of what ATT charges with better service! I also agree that it would be better to buy a uno;locked phone straight from Apple so you can go anywhere you want! Now the only thing is, from what I've read, the new iPhone 7 has zero compelling features to upgrade....just like last year only even worse this time! The largest company in the world going to Three year upgrade cycles??? I thought they invented stuff that we don't even know we need....HA!

That grandfathered unlimited data plan is not really unlimited. AT&T -- redefining unlimited [in a bad way]. With AT&T's marketing-speak their $45/month prepaid plan is unlimited too, you just get throttled earlier than with the more expensive plans.
People love to threaten to leave AT&T, but I yet to see a single person describe how they will save money or get more for their money after leaving.
I have something like 50 GB of data to use every month, plus rollover, from some promotion they had a while back. Mobile Share plan.
I have 2 iPhones and 3 iPads sharing this plan. 3 of the 5 devices have active installment plans. I pay around $300 a month for all of it. How could I possibly do better than that? The installment plans alone make up about $200 a month of the cost, right? So I pay $100 a month for shared service across all these devices, with more data than I could ever use (given that WiFi is everywhere).
Not too long ago it would cost that much for 1 iPhone. Anyone that says they've only gotten more expensive over time is just a delusional troll bot.
I switched from AT&T over to Tmobile after 12+ yrs with them. I already received discounts from work and still gotten a cheaper plan with Tmo. They gave me $35/line for 4 lines with 6GB each. I was averaging about 6-7GB of usage on AT&T but after 3 months on Tmo, my real usage is only under 2GB so something must be wrong with AT&T's way of metering customer data. On Tmo you can stream video and audio unlimited, they will never over bill you if you use up the data on the plan. They just switch you to 3G data speed. I also reviewed the bills, on AT&T they were charging me much much higher fees for some reason which resulted in additional $13 on top of the required Fed & State surcharges & taxes.
In terms of service, Tmo service definitely not as good as AT&T or Verizon in terms of coverage but I was never left stranded. It takes a little bit longer sometimes for the phone to pickup LTE signal again when driving. You get what you paid for and I'm willing to make the small sacrifice and cut my bill by 30% going with Tmo.
