You clowns better not download this today and then cry that it has bugs.
Wait for at least 5 days and then update.
Yep, and then never upgrade again just in case there are still bugs. In fact, never buy anything new again, ever, just in case there's something wrong with it.
Its about probability.
wait 5 days and 99% of the bugs should be gone wait 5 months and 99.9% bugs should be gone
Do the math, waiting about 5 days is the sweet spot for time waiting. The majority of the bugs are found in the first couple days.
Bugs don't just disappear. You know that, right? If there are bugs in 10.1 they won't be fixed until 10.1.1 or 10.2.
And these versions will introduce new bugs, so you shouldn't update to those, either, until 10.3 comes out to fix those.
Except that will have new bugs, too, so you probably shouldn't update to it.
So, all in all, best you never update your software. Or even better, get rid of all your hardware and go live in a box under a bypass where the only bugs you'll have to worry about are the fleas on a large vagrant called "Big Ivan" who likes to cuddle up to you for warmth.
Meanwhile, I've updated all my devices because we're not going to find out if there are problems unless someone does it. And Apple has a pretty good track record on releases, plus I've been running the beta on my old phone with no issues as yet. In fact, the large public beta program will have identified the majority of bugs so they could be fixed before release. This doesn't mean that new bugs won't be introduced in the final build, such as the bad OTA update they released a couple of versions back, but most of the issues should have been addressed by now.

I feel sorry for you for not having anything New ever in your life.
I honestly can't tell whether or not you're being serious or responding to my (obvious) sarcasm with more sarcasm.

That's just silly. The fandroids will be all over it in seconds flat if there are any issue for them to go off on. I wouldn't wait more then 1 day. A couple hours and you should know if it's good to go or not. I'm installing right now.
some T-mobile bugs didn't show up till a couple days latter last time. Also some texting bugs also.
I'll wait till Friday.
Why? Is Apple going to fix something on Friday too? Then, there might be bugs with that update so you might as well wait until the next update. WAIT! There might be bugs with that update too! Maybe were better off to never update!

I guess reading comprehension isn't your thing.
iOS 10.1 release wait 5 days. see what bugs have been discovered. If they won't affect my workflow, I'll update.
I wait 5 days to see what bugs are out their.
If the bugs are major, then I'll wait for the next update 10.1.1 then wait 5 days again
I don't expect a bugless update. But I want to know what I'm facing BEFORE I update. And usually in 5 days they discover 99% of the bugs
So in other words, you'll never update because you were bit once so Apple always has bugs that make their devices unusable.

Here: have a Sog filter. Makes your day more productive.
I don't understand the hype around the Portrait Mode and I don't understand why it is only available for iPhone 7 Plus! This feature exists since Galaxy S5 and it works with one camera alone and it is more powerful than the Apple copy: look at the pan focus. Orson Welles would have been happy to have a Galagy in 1941 when he did something similar in Citizen Kane:

Portrait mode doesn't need to have much distance between the focus and the background. You can take these same shots on any phone if the foreground object is far enough away from the background.

I tend to wait just to avoid the server overload that causes download timeouts and issues.

The blur in Selective focus is not the same as portrait mode. Apple's already can create the same effect as Selective focus' blurriness since iPhone 5. This is the portrait mode as seen below, note the sharpness of the object against the highly depth of field effect at the background. This kind of photo only can be captured with multiple lens taking the object and background separately similar to DSLR.
Downloaded iOS 10.1 on iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6. I was surprised to see Beta for Portrait mode. I snapped a few pictures with the new Portrait mode functionality and was impressed with what I could now do. Looking forward to even more functionality in the next few months.
Dear God, I hope watchOS 3.1 fixes the horrible battery sucking bug affecting the workout app.
Please elaborate. I've been on watchOS 3.1 & 10.1 through public beta and didn't experience horrible battery life through workouts (using Series0 / '15 model 42mm)

Thank you for a superb post. I think you just gobsmacked a bunch of silly fandroids. Hopefully, they'll just put their tail between their legs and go away (but I somehow doubt it)...
Just updated on my iPhone 7 via iTunes. Thankfully I did a backup right beforehand, it's now "Attempting data recovery" (white background, black Apple logo on a black iPhone?). I've never seen this before on any previous iPhone/iOS version. I guess I'll see what happens when it finishes, something tells me I'll have to restore...
Just updated my SE OTA. Battery went down from %75 to %69. Asked me to set up "Hey Siri". Phone functionality no longer laggy (problem before not fixed with a clean install via iTunes of 10.0.2). Overall, phone feels like I am back on latest iOS9 - buttery smooth. Happy.

Updated my 6S, so far so good with the update.
Maybe your 6S is faulty.
