if you have infact seen pictures for the new posters (sorry to question but its automatic around here). then posters are being/have been made, meaning mwny release ?!?!
if apple puts in a 1.21Ghz Processor then we should be able to time-travel.. that will be awesome.
Oh wait, that?s Gigawatts not Gigahertz
never mind

LOL!
oh. and canyon24 said that he saw a picture for the new posters... not the actual posters themselves. Although, it wouldn't really matter would it? I mean, having posters already made would still fit in with the theory that Steve will announce the new PowerMac but they'll ship in August. Wouldn't it?

Well no, first Apple has to clear out the backlog of old posters from the channel, then they can release the new posters
The new PowerMac will probably be more angular (ala XServe) with a smaller enclosure then the current one. Also look for the LCD Monitors on an arm ala iMac but with a swivel thingee for portrait mode. Keyboards will have a large pad for handwriting input (Inkwell) and they will be cordless as will be the two-button mouse. Speculation, of course.
I have one word of truth for you all: Sphere. Next summer. And I'm not talking about the movie.

Wow, suddenly I feel so enlightened. I just can't wait for the mac triangle.... (after all, we now have confirmation they are making a sphere)
The xServe design isn't right. There won't be hot-swappable HDs on a desktop, it's a server feature that is not needed (and too expensive) for a desktop.
Otherwise it looks cool, but I would miss the handles of the current display. Also, I don't like an exposed speaker, it's something that every child wants to poke their finger through (and many an adult looking at porn wants to poke something else through).
I don't see the tower being made out of brushed metal, that would be too expensive to manufacture. Apple needs big margins on these things, and they aren't going to get them by using an expensive case design. (note, the xserve only has the brushed metal on the front. A tower would need it on three sides and the top).
The current case with an extra external drive bay would be perfect. That's all the redesigning Apple needs to do. Of course they will update the style as well, but hopefully they are concentrating more on the guts of the Powermacs and style will be an afterthought.
If they did NOTHING ELSE but make both full sized bays accessible to full sized drives, that would be the most important case improvement they could make. (This may or may not involve a new motherboard, to move some heat sinks out of the way.)
If they really want to go nuts, they can put USB and FW ports on the front.
A speaker cover would be nice.
Other than that, the El Cap is pretty much fine just the way it is.
I've always had the idea of an Apple Computer with the shape of an Apple, but never really pictured anything that would be a useful concept for a computer. THat's cool. You should do it in an all metallic black.
It's hip to be square. I bet the new towers are a chrome-style ala Xserve and dont have curves.
The new case design is VERY cool, I have seen promo poster designs for MWNY that show the case, and they are very much like Dorsal M described. Kind of xserve-ish, but with some white plastic that really makes it look awesome.

According to HER we will be seeing these at MWNY too!
Besides, that case is ugly.
No, I bet it`s a mix of a TiBook and an Xserve with some El Capitan evolutionary stuff. Should be real nice, and I hope they have at least two removable drives in the front. That`s not too expensive (the R&D is paid for, the tech is simple), and very cool.
It's indeed butt-ugly, I would like to know what's on the chrome oval label on the side . it's hard to make out . Don't believe this will be the new case .
I'd like to see the case stay the same with minimal changes. If possible I'd like to have a better speaker in it. I know..kind of a stupid request, but a nice flat electrostatic speaker would be nice and have good sound. I'd personally rather see the power button at the top or very bottom of the face of the front.
I think one firewire and one usb would be nice on the front too, for those who have cameras/dv cameras, ipods, even external hds at times. It would really make things easy.
I truly love the case as is....I loved my B&W G3 and my QS both. i could accept no changes to the case at all, and not lose one bit of sleep.
If there are white accents they better not be completely matte like the iMac's plastics.
I don't want completely glossy like the sides of the PM, but sort of half and half. Neither extreme, take the middle.

At least it seems to have more bays, though.
They had better delay that sucker forever.
G-News
PS: one question: why does that case have a floppy drive?...I guess that was a short lived rumor.
