Amazon is coming but pretty disappointing since no 4K Apple TV. Prime shows such as Man in the High Castle look amazing in 4K HDR.

Man, that sync issue is awful. Worlds biggest corporation can't get TV to work.

Here’s the analysis part. Apple didn’t announce all the stuff the rumor mill touted as a sure thing, therefore WWDC17 was a disappointing failure and Apple is doomed. Happens every year now. That’s why I’ll be watching the keynote on my ATV4 only.
I don't believe we're saying that, at all.
As you can see from the additional comments here WWDC17 is already being declared probably “boring” as usual. And of course the rumored Siri product must be cheaper and better than the competition or Apple is once again doomed.
Not only is it boring, but the audience are being forced to cheer. It's dumb and pathetic!

So...the new MacPro is an iMacPro? Because the old macpro couldn't be upgraded; this fixes that problem...how? I don't get it. Unless the Real MacPro is still in development.

    The MacPro is now HomePod.

For this year, I don't think what the rumor mill touted is an issue, because I haven't heard many specifics.   I think what will matter to analysts is whether Apple shows anything substantially new at all, which they probably won't.   AFAIK, there's no major MacOS or iOS update coming and no new product lines, if they show any products at all.

The big question is whether they'll show an Echo equivalent.   If they do and it looks better than Amazon's, the analysts might be happy.   If it's more expensive (as it probably will be) with lesser functionality or if they don't show anything at all, they'll be lots of negativity and not just by analysts.    And an incremental iPhone 8 isn't going to wow anyone either.    I think it's very fair to say, even if one is an Apple fan, that Apple innovation has become quite sluggish.   I still have to wonder what all those employees actually do every day when we primarily see only incremental updates on a relatively small line of products.

What would thrill the attendees is if they showed a specific design for the new MacPro, but that's probably still way premature.

I have a feeling this is going to be a fairly boring WWDC.

Anyone who looks at the amount of development that went into all the stuff they just presented and thinks they're all just playing foosball all day is smoking crack.

Why is the video in cinema 2.35:1 wide screen aspect ratio? It's bizarre to see black bars on it ... don't tell me the new iPhones are going to have a theatrical aspect ratio, with pillar boxing for standard 16:9 content?
Probably because most of the presentations were side by side multicam? Why would it have one iota to do with this fall's iPhone? ¯\(°_o)/¯

Because the rumored iPhone allegedly has a taller aspect ratio ... regardless, even if they were doing side-by-side multicam, they don't need to do the who presentation in 2.35:1 -- in fact, several places during the presentation they went to an even wider 2.6:1 Cinemascope aspect ratio, and then when they weren't using it, switched out of it again. They could have done that the whole time -- seemed completely arbitrary to me. I could totally understand it if they were making some kind of announcement about 4K on the ATV, but nope -- just that their competitor Amazon was coming to the platform.

I disagree: Apple only announced everything that was predicted by the rumour mill, therefore WWDC17 proves that Apple have no surprises in the pipeline and thus Apple is doomed.
So far predictions for iOS mac macOS really boil down to something will be shown and beta's will be released to developers.
So if there is a suprise in the tent poles or they hint pretty clearly at things to come is that still all gloom Apple have nothing coming business declining as usual?
Clearly, you're not an analyst. It's well known that if Apple announces something that was already rumoured, then they're out of ideas and they're doomed. And if they announce anything that wasn't expected, then they're taking too many risks, and they're doomed.

They're probably the same people who looked at the keynotes that announced Swift, Metal, and APFS and thought they were boring because there wasn't any hardware.

I'm not a software developer, but I thought the keynote was terrific for content (I think delivery could be better, as Mr. Cook simply doesn't have the charisma that Mr. Jobs had, but that's not news).

I'm intrigued by High Sierra, which seems to be focused on tightening things up, along the lines of Snow Leopard vs Leopard.  I particularly like the improved privacy protections in Safari.

I also appreciate the hardware updates, particularly the iMac, which seemed to need them.  And props for updating laptops - the MBPs are now at least current.  Still a shame about the keyboard/trackpad.

Finally, while I'm not the market for the new Mac Pro, I'm looking forward to seeing what Apple does with it.  (And I know the MP wasn't mentioned.)  I recently bought a 12 core 2.66 2010 model for fun, and seeing how much faster it is than my MBP is revelatory.  It's absurd how inexpensive upgrading is - a GTX 1070 was $300 and 64 GB of RAM was $120.  Hopefully the new MP will provide similar modularity (again, recognizing not all MP customers need expandability or upgradability).

I cannot wait to see what is new and upcoming after the event. I have to commend Apple, and anything Adobe works on seems to need more...work!
