I like how in every one of the marketing photos the drive is sitting in probably the worst place posible!
What do you mean?
They show an Architect the drive in the middle of the drawing he's drawing over. A woman sitting in a chair using a laptop holding the drive in one hand to stop it falling while she makes a phone call. Plugged in to computer sitting in front so the space artist wants to put tablet is taken by drive.
The plot thickens... It seems that Samsung Portable SSD T5 will be available in 12 days (by 3rd August 2017), CHEAPER in pc21 site (see below) than current T3 model. Samsung SSD 250GB T5 external SSD Blue
(Reference created on 22.07.17) SNG23037 MU-PA250B / EU

Update 2: Samsung Portable SSD T5 has been shown for some time at Centralpoint (Netherlands); the initial expected stock date was Monday 17th July 2017 (!) for 2TB model and 1st August 2017 for the other sizes.
A bit off-topic, but these "Samsung USB Type-C/USB 3.1 Flash Drives" are already available and have similar design (color) than "Samsung Portable SSD T5":
Yet, they are not indexed by Google, Yahoo, Lycos or Bing. It seems that Samsung is preparing a launch (hopefully , soon!) and does not want leaks before such event.
The Korea Herald reported on the T5 in late May. They were expecting it in mid-June.
Who knows what Samsung will do, regarding release.
Mike, this is off topic (even though it specifically relates to this thread), but is there any way we can "unwatch" a thread we've previously commented in? There are a few threads I'd like to mute.
