reporting rumors and putting a headline "Breaking" from a source that is absolutely flimsy is shameful.
1) Well, if anyone here knows about shameful commenting it's you. zing!
2) If you took a second to look up the term breaking news you'd see that it's defined as "newly received information about an event that is currently occurring or developing."
Apple will not reveal the models on separate dates, plain and simple. Not going to happen.
We here at AI are HIGHLY skeptical about the report. And, we're concerned that mainstream media will pick up and run with it, and lack context.
Then why write a story on it?
Because it's Apple news! Why is this a hard concept to understand? If you expect an Apple rumour site to wait for a lead to pan out before they report on it then all you're going to be reading are reports after Apple officially announces a product.
I hope there is an investigation if this turns out to not be true. Is someone trying to game Apple Stock? Did someone short the stock and need to cover themselves?

The mainstream media over-react with little to no evidence??? They would never do that. They are the bastion of truth and only have our best interests in mind. PS - Before the hate mail comes in, look up the definition of sarcasm.
This is bs. Apple unveiled the homepod in June and the supposed homepod firmware dump has all sorts of details. If there was not a launch date for the alleged iPhone 8 it wouldn't have been so prominent in the homepod treasure trove. Imo
Sure sounds like Samsung FUD planted story to me. And yes, Samsung is very capable of doing something like this. Remember the paid fake critical reviews of HTC they were caught redhanded at, and fined by the FTC? They actually got caught 'astroturfing' twice that year.
IF Samsung screws up OLED displays in an attempt to hurt Apple while helping itself, I suggest Tim Cook buy or invest in Samsung competitors to completely cut off Samsung from the Apple supply chain.

How does this help Samsung? Unless you’re suggesting if someone can’t get an iPhone 8 or it is delayed they’ll just buy an S8?
The stock was down $3.50 when the report came out, on a downward trend for the day. Nasdaq is down 2 percent on the day on the assumption that the North Korea situation is going to get worse before it gets better.

The breaking tag when applied to rumors or notes doesn’t seem appropriate, IMO. If the content of the story is time sensitive or incredible, sure, but for plain rumors not so much. If the content isn’t time sensitive or incredible, why not designate every new story as breaking?

We updated the story 10 times in an hour with more information. Seems pretty breaking to me.

Just guessing.
