Strange headline. There were two different 8 models and they’re more affordable than the X.
The iPhone 8 outsold the iPhone X, while the iPhone X outsold the iPhone 8 Plus. The two different models are clearly addressed in the story. Headline is accurate.
    Ummm,  That's interesting...
So the X sucked market share mostly from the 8-Plus....

Obviously Plus buyers favor a larger screen.   So does that mean the screen on the X is "big enough"?  Or, perhaps it was simply that the difference in price between an 8-Plus vs the X was smaller than that of the 8 -- which made the higher cost of the X easier to swallow?
I cannot wrap my head around people on tech forums who now that the iPhone X's display is measured on the diagonal without any considerations for both the notch and 4 corner removal of display area and pixels, but keep wanting to say it's a bigger display when it clearly has less area than the Plus-sized iPhone. More importantly, the iPhone X has the same display width as that 4.7" iPhone and even less viewing area when displaying a standard, 16:9 video without being cropped (i.e.: safe area).

I didn't upgrade to the iPhone X because I want the the same size iPhone as my iPhone 7 Plus.
LOL... Since nobody on this forum has said that X display is bigger than that of the 8 Plus, maybe you either need to read a bit more carefully -- or take your meds…
    1) You want to go on record that "nobody no this forum" has said that a 5.8" display is larger than a 5.5" display?

    2) A two second google search found this exact quote by a regular poster, "No reason to wait the iPhone X has a larger display than the Plus models TODAY!" and based on both your defensiveness with my pointing out a simple fact that's easily verified and your petty attack, I can't help but wonder if I'd find similar comments from you if I spent a few moments searching under your name, but since you said nobody has ever said that, I'll leave it at just one of innumerable examples that prove show that misplaced affirmation and arrogance to be wildly off the mark.
    LOL...
    Changing your story?

You're responding to this thread and quoted me -- or actually misquoted me -- by suggesting that I said that.  Now you're reverting to a Google search to prove that it's not true that nobody, nowhere at no time has ever said that....
What story did I change with your "fake" question?

You're responding to this thread and quoted me -- or actually misquoted me -- by suggesting that I said that.  Now you're reverting to a Google search to prove that it's not true that nobody, nowhere at no time has ever said that….
Where did I misquote you? Where did I suggest that you said the first example I saw in my search? In fact, I literally stated that the italiczed quote wasn't from you… but you'd know if you "read a bit more carefully."

Ok,  you got me...  Somebody, somewhere at some time probably said that.  Are you happy now?
No, because you're still trying to save face and deflect from the fact that it was commonly stated on this very forum—in threads in which you participated—ad nauseam, and yet you're ironically telling me to "read a bit more carefully" and making personal attacks. It's fine that you don't remember, but at least do a modicum of research before making such absolute statements.

PS: It's OK to admit you made a mistake.
The part that threw me was where you quoted me and responded with:

" cannot wrap my head around people on tech forums who now that the iPhone X's display is measured on the diagonal without any considerations for both the notch and 4 corner removal of display area and pixels, but keep wanting to say it's a bigger display when it clearly has less area than the Plus-sized iPhone. You commented on how it's interesting that the iPhone X took marketshare from the iPhone 8 Plus. My initial comment about display area was building on top of your statements, not refuting them. If that wasn't clear, then mea culpa.
