I've given up using AOL, especially since I started using my .mac mail, but the latest version of AOL for OS X really isn't too bad.

"My girlfriend just switched! Now what? "

I always said if I could get my girlfried to 'switch' then I would ask if I could join her and her female partner... but so far no luck. Her girl friends aren't frisky enough.

    (sorry... mind in the gutter)

Well, it's been about 4 or 5 weeks since she got her iBook. She just loves it. I installed Microsoft Office for the former Windows user that still lurks inside her. But other than that and wireless networking problems where even her brother's Dell can't connect, other than that she's loving it. I showed her the new 12 inch PowerBooks and she still preferred her iBook. Must be the color! When you have an iBook, people notice. Some look confused, but at least a few times a day you'll get the totally appreciative onlooker who knows it's an iBook. Sometimes she brings it to college and watches "Legally Blonde" or some other chick flick with all her girlfriends. There's a 42 inch plasma TV above their heads and they're watching DVD's on a 12 inch iBook. It's quite a sight. And the best thing about the iBook is that mostly- it's out of sight. I am amazed at how portable it is. Her iBook fits right into her Kenneth Cole messenger bag with room for a Pepsi, the occasional textbook, and few dvd's. Sometimes she comes over my house and we both "share" a wireless cable connection by the fireplace. Romance in the 21st century is certainly not dead! I "drag" and "drop" iCal calendars onto her iChat screen name. Sharing, dragging, dropping. Ah good times. I haven't showed her the magic of fscking yet though. It's too soon in the iBook relationship for that.

    Anyway that's it!

I think this may be a topic more suitable for Apple Outsider.

Anyway, if you want to start getting into that, try using the term "making love". Girls hate the F word.

    if i don't fsck -y once a week i get cranky....g

an aside: once, on the line with apple support, i made a comment on the use of fsck...dead silence followed by a very dry explaination of what fsck stood for....poor guy had probably heard way too many comments on that command...
