What's your favorite mac?

I ask this with some temporal factors in mind. As in, when it came out how impressed were you with it, and measure that impression against other impressions.

And I want a single answer. If you put down a list, I will send Brad & Jonathan after you with cricket bats.

I'm with Thain on this one. My Performa 638CD also has a serious "wow" factor with its RCA in, TV tuner, and remote control. A wicked machine!

The PowerBook 2400c... or just the Duo line. I love little notebooks. So my 800 MHz 12" iBook also gets an honorable mention. But the 2400c is still my favorite.

I agree with Thain & Brad I loved my Quadra 630 (same as Performa 630 but had a FPU) I really love the TV/Video Card. Second was my first mac, A Powerbook 180 (wife still uses occasionally)

Loved the "classic" graphite DVSE iMac.

That machine really looked great in its day and for me nothing else out there could touch it for form with function!

    Just felt like hugging it!

(...sorry, a little too much information..)

12" Dual USB iBooks 100 Mhz bus versions in general.

or the last of the Armani PowerBooks - the Pismo. The design is brute force designed.

But if it was a choice between Apple computer products it would be Newton 2000/2100 hands down. Its was so ahead of its time its not even funny. Today only restricted by I/O ports and drivers

    The Beige G3.

    1) It's my first computer

    2) I think it's the most universal/expandable computer apple ever made.

    3) It's Beige. (I don't like clown comp's) <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

My favourite Mac will always be my first Mac...the Performa 6320/120 CD. I don't care if LEM or the AppleCrap or the rest of the world thinks its a "Road Apple"...dammit, I could play Quake 1 and Future Cop on it, and MechWarrior II on it was a blast. I packed so many games on it, I had to resort to using Aladdin's StuffIt SpaceSaver to compress my files...
