1 officially. I switched my Grandpa last week from a 200Mhz Windoze box to a new 12" PowerBook. I am also trying to switch myself from OS 9, but the bank account isn't there yet.
2. My uncle and our Network Manager here at Freightliner. The first was not so much of a suprise, the second I found out after he bought and ibook and came and told me that he did not know why he did not do so many years earlier. Cool.
I am a DELL user, but I am taking a closer look at Apple for half a year now. Christmas my brother wanted to by a Laptop and asked me which computer would be the best for him. I thought: Hey this is the best way of switching, get someone else to switch and see how he does. So I talked him into an ibook and got him to be my test person.
He now has his laptop for about a month and I just installed the Airport Extreme basestation in our Network of Win machines. Our dad already decided that his next computer will be an Apple Laptop (2003 seems to be the year of the Laptop ) and I will switch as soon as my Dell is out of date.
I think I am the first Win user who got someone to switch to a Mac.
Ninja Monkey Driver (or whatever your name is), I feel your pain.
This is where I insert my standard joke about having "switched" at least one girl (ah to be a freshman again) Come to think of it, I don't think I really "switched" her, she was always playing for that side, I just helped affirm it. You'd think she'd have had the decency to try us out side by side before finally going amazon. Ah well, I should have switched her a little more slowly. All you carpet munchers out there owe me!
currently working on a friend of mine-- she thinks my tibook is pretty and was wowed by itunes... plus whenever i talk about how easy it is to type/read japanese on my machine, she looks like she's lusting after it (she's japanese). she's perfect for a switch: loves the design, doesn't want to "deal" with her machine a lot, loves itunes/mail/etc. until me, though, she didn't even know that they made microsoft office for the mac.
Just one so far. One of my best friends was looking for a laptop for college, and I showed him the powerbook. Couples of weeks later, he's a new mac owner.
I've tried, but to no end. Everyone says they love macs but the price tag is too steep. Booo! Maybe I'd try harder if Apple started of 'proof of switch' campaign. That way, all the already exisiting filthy mac whores in the world get a discount on their next hardware purchase if they can prove they've switched someone. I'd probably hold a gun to my friends head if I thought it would help me upgrade from my grumpy sage imac.
I switched nobody. However i have a friend who switched, but not because of my advice, but because he learn to appreciate all the qualities of the mac. He really enjoy them, and he use it for making film with film maker pro and I dvd.

I don't wanna sound like an obsessor, but that's pretty effin' good. You should be respected!
Thanks, I worked hard on that one with the help of my bro and a teacher. Good times.
