Algol, hit the edit button right above your post and fix this. Just put some carriage returns in the middle of the laughter. Think of it like taking a breather
This person that I know is not a huge apple nut and he mentioned the 7500. It is on the drawing board and coming soon. I think it will be the next revision. Hopefully in August!

Well if it's on the drawing board, it's not going to be here in august. Not even next august. Please tell us it's OFF the drawing board and currently being fabbed.
Forgive my ignorance...wtf is the 7500? Pleae tell me we aren't talking about the old beige thingy Apple used to sell.
So, how will the X brand be differentiated from the iModels and PowerModels? Since your friend already broke his NDA by talking to you, you might as well speak up..you aren't bound by and NDA. And you already mentioned a couple pieces, so you may have already burned him...let's just finish the job and get all the info out
Edit : sorry, seniors moment...7500 = next G4 iteration
Well, assuming that it is Xmac, and assuming that it replaces the Powermac, don't you think that thats a terrible idea? Killing the powermac name, what a classic. They better not!

My hope is that any newly named models will not replace the PowerMac name. That name has way to much value to replace just yet. My main reason for hoping it will be in addition to and not in replacement of the PowerMac line, is that I hope to see Apple release a workstation class machine. Not that I would *ever* buy one, I would ove to see Apple playing in that field..it would be a great way to get them more visiblity, and the R&D they spend on that line could trickle into the PowerMac line. Set an incredibly high markup on these macXworkstations and Apple's R&D could be shared and spead out amongst all 3 product lines with the extremely high end line helpng to pay for the two lower lines.

You mean the 7500 I can order right now in a Power Mac 800?

Well they killed the Mac II name and that was a classic. It was around longer than PowerMac. Some trivia: Did you know Apple almost called the PowerMac series the Macintosh III? Tis true!
I know a guy who knew another guy that once chatted with a guy that wore a shirt with an Apple logo on it. Now I'm told it might not have been an Apple logo. Whatever. That doesn't matter...
He says that that guy says that the other guy might have said that Apple's coming out with something new.
Could that something be the Xmac?
[edit: I put the smiley at the end, 'cause you never know around here]
The "x" brand is coming soon. Xserve is just the begining. Thats about all I can say. What I know at this point is there will be at least 2 more products with the x brand at this time.

Dude you totally sux! Why bother posting such drivel. Where the hell is Kormac and Dorsal. These wanna-bees are killing me.

If Robin Williams were to do a thread spoofing AI, it would be this one.
