A quick-acting AppleInsider reader has spotted a live "test" video for an event scheduled for September 10 at 1:15PM Eastern Time on Apple's YouTube channel -- which has since been removed.

The video showed up in a recommended feed on YouTube which shows off current videos and future events. The video in question listed a live stream scheduled for September 10, which would align with the 2019 event by date, but not by day.

Apple confirmed during its earnings call, that 2020 would not see a "normal" iPhone release schedule.

The event has been predicted to take place on October 12 for the "iPhone 12." The "Apple Watch Series 6" and a new iPad are expected to be announced via press release in September.

The data for the video, seen in this article sent by Ben from Nottingham, England, depicted a Thursday event at 1:15 PM Eastern Time which is highly abnormal for Apple events. The iPhone is normally announced at the beginning of the week with pre-orders that Friday or the next. Apple also starts events at the top of the hour, so take the image even more skeptically.

    "TEST"

What they thought people couldn't see it? If the person was smart they could have placed any date to the publicly  displayed "TEST" video.

With that said, the date isn't hard to guess.

Why does everywhere say this test says September 10, 2020? That says October 9, 2020. September 10 would be 09/10/20.

10/09/20 in the UK is 10th September 2020
10/09/20 in the USA is October 9th 2020
as the time is 18:15 it is likely UK time otherwise it would say 1:15pm for Eastern time (or 13:15 if the 24 hour clock format was selected)

Maybe we will just have to wait!!🤔

"The data for the video, seen in this article sent from a reader in the UK..."

European date format places the day before the month:  dd/mm/yyyy.

Actually, in the US, Apple always posts the time as 10:00 am Pacific time. 1:00 pm start time on the east coast.

I guess it would make more sense to postpone it for 12/12;)

Tim’s proverbial, meticulous span of control will guarantee a highly orchestrated sequence of events.
He’s declared Thermonuclear War on leakers, as he had been tested to the edge of his nerves last year.
So I expect this to be a misleading/fabricated hint, implying there will be a surprise event on some day, so unforeseen that it will freak out any leaker (bringing Prosser back to his regular proportion...)

Yes.  If he’s in England they do day/month/year.  So it’s then odd that he’s got it the American way if October is correct.

October 9 makes more sense from a day of week perspective, being a Monday.

Am I the only one in the world who looks at this as a standard Apple test that doesn’t tell us anything? For anyone with an Apple Watch, go to edit your complications and see what time your watch shows while in edit mode.... that’s right, 10:09. Every demo, every screenshot, everything Apple releases that shows a time, it’s 10:09. This is just a play on that from the testing team, nothing more.

That’s really cool. I feel like I’ve noticed that, but never really thought about it much. But it’s like the countdown to launch - 10, 9, 8....

    oh, Apple.
