Prove that you're better informed: what evidence has the Trump administration provided that TikTok has violated national security? The CIA couldn't find any.
Please don't construe this as support for Trump in general, as it's not, but you don't wait until after a security breach to fix the problem. If the potential is high enough, preemptive action is the proper course.
Now, whether that potential actually exists is another question, one that no one here is likely qualified to evaluate.

The fact is: Trump once again has deceived the American public. There is no evidence that TikTok is a National Security threat -- because it isn't! It is however a threat to both Trump and Zuckerberg:
Not only did American teenagers use TikTok to humiliate Trump in Tulsa by reserving tickets they never intended to use and getting him to announce it would be the HUGEST rally ever instead of the complete bust that it was,
But:
Zuckerberg had been lobbying Trump to stamp out "Chinese Social Media" platforms because the posed a significant competition to Facebook. It is likely not a coincidence that Zuckerberg, at the same time, refused to label Trump's campaign ads as false, misleading lies even though his own fact checkers identified them as false and misleading lies.
For Trump it was a win-win-win: He not only gets rid of a social media platform whose users were humiliating him, but he got Facebook to let him broadcast his lies without challenge while rallying his rather gullible base around the now familiar pattern of hate and fear propaganda directed at China.
