Considering that you only earn 1% with purchases at Amazon using your Apple Card, why would you even bother? I use my Apple Card only with Apple Pay... I've never even physically used the actual card or CC number in the over year I've had it. And for Amazon purchases, I use the my Amazon card for 5% back.
And that’s relevant to the article how? Amazon should still allow using the card.
Who says they don't? This is almost certainly a glitch. It it weren't Apple-related, it wouldn't be news at all.
And the herd immediately jumps to conclusions without any basis to do so.
I ordered two kindle books, and they haven’t downloaded yet. Been on Amazon trying to figure out why. I thought I had set up the Apple Card as my default, but it wasn’t in the list of cards. Okay, maybe I was wrong, so I made another card my default.
My digital orders are still sitting there, but they’re not be synced to the kindle app.
I can’t call Amazon on this because they have no customer service, in reality. It’s like dealing with a fly-by-night organization.
Huh?! I have chatted with and spoken on the phone with representatives several times. Most recently today.

If you haven't tried this give it a try always has worked for me..
I ran into this this morning as well trying to place an order and kind of shrugged it off. Then I had to change the payment on an order that was supposed to ship today and reached out to support. They had no idea initially what I was talking about but did eventually come back to tell me it was an issue with no resolution timeframe yet. Not too big of a deal, but was a little confusing when I had to enter a valid payment method and the one I wanted wasn't in the list and could not be added.
Interesting ... I just removed my Apple Card as an Amazon payment method.
I had three mysterious Apple charges at Amazon for Subscribe and Save items, and I removed Apple Card as a payment option so all my S&S items would revert to using my Amazon Rewards card and I'd be getting 5% back instead of 1% from Apple Card.
No clue as to how those items got on Apple Card to begin with - I had added Apple Card just as a backup payment method.
A reporter should first seek out comment from Amazon before posting. This would be standard journalistic practice instead of leaving the question open-ended.
Yes, what an irresponsible headline. At least end it with a question mark. Presently, it's a pretty bold statement that turns out to be completely false. Shame on AppleInsider.
As noted in the update, Amazon is now aware of the problem and has likely fixed it by the time you read these words.
But what I really came here to say was that the headline was quite misleading -- until Amazon confirms they deliberately removed the Apple Card as a payment option, it should always be assumed that a sudden change like that is a glitch or but, not a deliberate act. In particular, the word "removing" infers both a deliberate act and an ongoing act, and apparently neither is correct. I hope they'll amend the headline to be more accurate to the situation soon.

Have to agree here. The headline is a lie basically. This is the kind of thing that separates real journalism from blogging for ad clicks.
As of this morning, my AppleCard was back as a payment option in the Amazon app. I did not have to add it back manually, so it was definitely a technical glitch on Amazon’s end.

Not sure if you noticed that this is an Apple site?
AMAZON is EVIL! Walmart is same to me as don't accept ApplePay. Costco,Target and rest of retailers are better who accepts ApplePay for customers convenience. Once my Driver license and Passport goes on iPhone; don't need to take wallet with me. Let me be free of plastic cards.

I tried to get the Amazon card and was turned down even though I have a 751 credit score and have cash in Chase bank...
It's quite impressive, how that 5% adds up... (I need to get out more).

I avoid Amazon like the plague.
