According to a court filing spotted by Reuters, ByteDance now has until Dev. 4 to sell the U.S. portion of its app to a domestic company. Previously, President Donald Trump in November had given ByteDance an additional 15 days to divest the app -- a period that was set to expire on Friday, Nov. 27.
ByteDance also reportedly has a "new proposal" that's aimed at addressing U.S. government concerns, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters
TikTok is currently still in talks with Walmart and Oracle on a deal that would create a new U.S.-based company called TikTok Global.
Restrictions separate from the Trump Administration's ban have also been blocked by federal courts. In November, the Commerce Department placed a stay on an order that would effectively ban TikTok pending legal developments.

The "new proposal" is simply wait out the administration change. The issue will quickly fade and be forgotten.
That's the smart thing for them to do. A few injunctions should easily get them through the next few months, then we have a sane president again.
Regardless, Tik Tok's activity was never a national security issue. Trump being embarrassed by some Tik Tok kids is definitely not a national security issue. Ironically, using the power of the federal government to ineptly attempt to inflict petty vengeance on "those meddling kids" should be considered a national security issue. Fortunately, it's all coming to an end soon.
The only reason we're going through this theater in GA is the 2 Senate seats up for grabs in our state. The party wants to concurrently energize and scare Republican voters into returning to the polls. Everyone here already knows Trump lost Georgia... whether or not they publicly admit it is another story altogether.
Tik Tok kids dunked on Trump. Trump got embarrassed and pissed, resulting in [insert air quotes] national security concerns. Enough indeed.
