Interesting. What are the expected use cases for such a bulky addition to the wrist?

Increasingly I am leaving my iPhone at home or in the car and venture forth with just my LTE Apple Watch.   It covers most functions I need in such situations.  But, FaceTime is not one of them.  That would be nice.  I'm not sure it would be nice enough to wear one of these bands, but still, it would be very nice to have.

I know my grandson uses FaceTime for pretty much every call he makes -- which, at 14, is becoming more and more frequent.  Not having it available would impair his much valued social life.
So the use case you're describing is FaceTime when you don't bring your phone out with you. And rather than take the FaceTime call in audio-mode, you're going to hold your arm out in front of your head? For how long? It seems very uncomfortable, compared to doing audio-only. If it's for short video chat only, is that really worth the massive bulk added here?

So far the comments in support imply it's a novelty device to mess around with, or one that's cool but you wouldn't pay for. That seems to make them failed use cases -- if customers aren't willing to spend the price on it for real, then it's not going to be a successful product.

While I wouldn't wear one of these I would hope that Apple could, at some point, incorporate one into the watch for video chats.

After all Dick Tracy had one.  Why not us?
