I think Hyundai will be for Apple Car that, what is Foxconn now for iPhone. They will produce a car, that is fully developed and designed by Apple: software and hardware included!
Oh, I see ... that is the trick ... fully developed and designed by Apple! Do you know how many parts a car has? I was not aware that Apple had experiences in development of all those parts!
The first Tesla from 2008 was based on Lotus Elise. It took Tesla many years to get there where they are today, and with regard to quality, Tesla will needs still years to get there were the traditional car manufacturers are.
Sorry to disappoint you, but not much would be developed by Apple. If at all, just "the skin" would be from Apple.
The only working strategy is Apple licensing its self driving packages to automakers. Tesla is charging $10,000/car for it. Apple could further charge a subscription fee for updates.
Apple will not license anything. Major car brands are investing in their own proprietary software & autonomous systems. They’re not just going to hand over the keys to the kingdom to Apple.
It’ll be interesting to see how this all unfolds. I personally think that Apple’s car efforts are service based; they will not be sold to individual buyers but rather be an autonomous taxi service. You could have different tiers of service from unlimited for say 300 a month (just throwing a number out there) to someone looking for 10 uses a month for, maybe something like 50/month. It’s a guess, but I just can’t see them entering the market on the terms of how the car market is currently.
Ideally, this is what I’d love to see. I’m personally tired of driving.
In line with the copycat strategy of Samsung, I am wondering how it comes, that they did not already copied Apple (for the N-th time again), to announce their Samsung Car? Or I have missed something?
Yes, you missed a lot, otherwise you would know how much Samsung has been involved in the car industry. Oh, you missed also that the first Samsung Car, the Samsung SM5, was released in 1998.; its 3rd generation was produced until 2019.
Are you going to write a new post correcting
your statement and to say Apple is copying Samsung's strategy? Sure you would
not ... hypocrisy is the new religion nowadays.

Do they have sufficient knowledge of high tech? If so, why do they need Apple CarPlay?
Same here, with so many superior brands to choose “Hyundai” leads to wonder how any car they can produce can be superior to the likes or Tesla, bmw, Mercedes or any other superior car makers...
I was personally hoping it be BMW... I recall when they published the initial earliest talks where bmw offered they would serve as car makers to apple... never was this mentioned again though... fast forward many many years to now and “Hyundai”? Yuk, why not Kia while your at it?
maybe IVE left because of all bs politics and design fails lead by politics that ultimately broke him... I do hope he takes up the Ferrari ceo role because I would love to see a Ferrari designed by ive.
Apple car by Hyundai - lol or Hyundai car by apple... barf

Lets hope that’s the case! At the end I hope they play it less safe then usual because performance is a thing for many when buying a car... as in a sports car, road feel, suspension, and so on... is it going to be a rolling bed, or will they consider a pro version per say for the rest of the folks that enjoy high end performance cars?
apple is known to play launches incredibly safe which has me concerned.
And Bosch has 30,000 software engineers working on varying aspects of Autonomous Driving and in January last year claimed that all of the technical hurdles had been overcome. The only things remaining were testing and refinement, standards and protocols, economies of scale and convincing users.
Bosch is an amazing company and they seem like the prime brand missing from the Tesla, Apple car potential competitor circle. I would love to see a Bosch car so we can all enjoy a real competent competitor.

We saw so many comments just like this when Apple outsourced Macbooks and IBM outsourced ThinkPads in a joint venture to a company that at the time was producing questionable quality laptops.

Do they have sufficient knowledge of high tech? If so, why do they need Apple CarPlay?
They need CarPlay because a lot of people have iPhones. All CarPlay does is mirror the iPhone onto the dash. It isn’t a fully integrated service. CarPlay in cars is no different than the ATV app on 3rd party TV’s.
Hyundai / Kia is very capable of building solid and reliable cars. Far more so than most prestige brands. Apple will fulfill the prestige element. It makes sense to me.
Many do t realize that today’s hi Dai is basically Lexus/Toyota in terms of quality engineering.
Around 2010, Hyundai went big with hiring the best engineers and made significant investments in their brand. So much so, they shortly after the resulting products had been proving themselves, Honda said the most worthy competitor they had was Hyundai.
This influenced my decision to purchase in 2016 and it’s been one of the best investments I’ve made.
Great matchup. The fact that they have invested in the USA only sweetens the deal.

ROFL. Please check out the negative comments about EV's that the head of BOSCH made very recently. They might have done the groundwork but that may never see the light of day.

What comments are you referring to?
As for seeing the light of day, the first baby steps have already been made in the real world. Mercedes Benz is using Bosch Level 4 technology in some S Series models for fully autonomous, driverless valet parking in a commercial deployment in Germany.
Just last month Bosch announced a major advance after research into continuously variable transmission.

2024? Really? Is this an April Fool's Day joke?
If ever any "Apple Car" should be produced, it would be just a Hyundai with an "Apple skin" and entertainment/navigation system from Apple.
Apple allegedly plans the production of iPhones in detail years ahead and now the industry expects a complete new car designed by Apple in 2024? Sure!
Do you know how many parts a car has? I was not aware that Apple had experiences in development of all those parts!
