The only working strategy is Apple licensing its self driving packages to automakers. Tesla is charging $10,000/car for it. Apple could further charge a subscription fee for updates.
Apple will not license anything. Major car brands are investing in their own proprietary software & autonomous systems. They’re not just going to hand over the keys to the kingdom to Apple.
Do they have sufficient knowledge of high tech? If so, why do they need Apple CarPlay?
They need CarPlay because a lot of people have iPhones. All CarPlay does is mirror the iPhone onto the dash. It isn’t a fully integrated service. CarPlay in cars is no different than the ATV app on 3rd party TV’s.
I think his point was, if the automakers weren’t so bad at software CarPlay wouldn’t have been needed. The car systems are just atrocious to use.

Also, CarPlay isn’t mirroring the phone onto the head unit. It’s using it as an external touch display and can render two entirely different screens at the same time.

Mostly agree although Tesla loses money in every car it sells. It is only profitable through sales of EV credits as offsets to other car manufacturers not yet meeting their EV targets. Once the other manufacturers meet these imposed targets Tesla will quickly be in a world of pain.
Note: I still don’t believe the Apple Car hoopla.  I just see them using cars as a tech test bed. That said, I think you undersell Tesla’s business model as it is nothing short of genius.

Tesla figured out how to get other car manufactures to pay for them figuring out mass scale car manufacturing. Genius.

yes: the stock is in 2H2 O2 bubble territory and it will pop soon with a big boom IMO.

note: I thought the same of Apple in 2005 and 90% of my shares thinking: 300% in 3 years is too good to be true. Oops.
Yeh, it's amazing to me that those who hate China the most and predict that they'll never amount to anything tend to say the same about America's premier tech leader.
Why are you so daft about China? No one says that. What they say is the Chinese government is a brutalist authoritarian regime with no concern for human rights.

We’ve linked you these facts many times.

Elon Musk figured out how to do it in America from scratch, without Apple's money.  Now he's the world's richest man.  Why can't Apple be that smart?
He isn’t. Tesla isn’t even doing that great, especially compared to Apple. So it isn’t a matter of being as smart as Musk (lol). It’s a matter of what they choose to work on, why, and when.

That isn’t the only working strategy. Explain why you think it is.

Why? Samsung makes OLED screens to Apple's specifications. That has turned out just fine.. B)

Why would you think that Hyundai would be any different? Apple didn't ask Hyundai to design and build a vehicle for them.. they will task Hyundai, or whatever company they decide to go with to build cars that they have designed from top to bottom precisely how they want it..period.

Just because the Chinese government is a brutalist authoritarian regime! Do you really believe in the information coming from this regime?
Do you really, really, really believe that no one has died of COVID-19 in China?

Why already a year till now, experts of WHO are still not permitted to come for inspection in China?

It is not propaganda. Several thousands people died in Wuhan between January and May. But after May 2020, there is no people died of Covid-19 in China. Take a look of the charts on this web page which is not from China. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/china/

The global pandemic is far from over. It is actually reaching a new peak. If you are truly concerned about the pandemic, please tell me why inspection is urgently needed? What good will inspection help fighting the pandemic?

(Ok I will) My dude. The data supplied to Worldometer comes from nation/state reporting. Ask the Uyghurs how much they trust China’s sanctioned reporting.

As for the WHO inspections, it’s to study the origins of the virus so that we can better understand it. There is absolutely no reason for China to stonewall researchers except to hide its origins.

    God you astroturfers are pathetic.

I will address stupid. I seldom give up. lol Which Uyghurs have been asked? The overseas dissidents. How many of them? Do you honestly believe no one will lie? Have your personal life been affected by Trump's words? Most people's life have nothing to do with what government reports. This is true in China too. So why you put such importance on China's sanctioned reporting expecting it to be 100% correct?

According to this American propaganda article (lol) scientists have been hot-wiring virus for decades. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/coronavirus-lab-escape-theory.html Could Covid-19 be designed in US lab? Should WHO be allowed to inspect those top secret US labs? lol BTW, WHO is going to China to inspect now. Why do you use the word, hide? This is a hidden propaganda from you. God you are pathetic.

    Yes.

And Bosch has 30,000 software engineers working on varying aspects of Autonomous Driving and in January last year claimed that all of the technical hurdles had been overcome. The only things remaining were testing and refinement, standards and protocols, economies of scale and convincing users.

ROFL. Please check out the negative comments about EV's that the head of BOSCH made very recently.  They might have done the groundwork but that may never see the light of day.
What comments are you referring to?

As for seeing the light of day, the first baby steps have already been made in the real world. Mercedes Benz is using Bosch Level 4 technology in some S Series models for fully autonomous, driverless valet parking in a commercial deployment in Germany.

Just last month Bosch announced a major advance after research into continuously variable transmission.

I see, but nothing in what he said was relative to the autonomous driving research.

The first part was about the battery division and the second part was directed at supporting Bosch's bread and butter business (components for ICE cars). He's pushing back against legislative powers which will see the ICE phased out quicker in Europe than he would like.

For autonomous diving (40 years of research already) there is no going back.
