for those jumping all over fox news, read the quote i posted above.

they have been misquoted in this thread. they didn't say it has been confirmed as a chem. weapons facility. read what they wrote before you make your judgements.

Fox and Bush don't you love pinko liberals

LOL had to say that. One must on event fall down to the level of the liberals here. Notice I linked to Reuters with my link.

If you listen to liberals you will hear them say.

    Bush is Bad

    Fox is Bad

    America is Bad

oops I mean uhhhh Did I say America is Bad?

The things a liberal will say if they keep running their mouths.

I linked to Reuters as to evade all the knee-jerk liberal fanfair.

However if Fox comes up all the liberals line up to paint Fox as the great Satan.

I hope that this is true . . . though I hope that they never got around to making the weapons yet . . .

finding these goes a long way towards legitimizing the war

which I feel needs to happen or else we will look like aggressors for pure gain or from ideology

Pfflam I agree with you here.

Again we will have a little more waiting to do before we draw conclusions.

It has yet to be made clear as to what exactly we have with this 100 acre site.

We will see soon enough I suspect.

I completely agree with your sentiments. Ironically, I've noticed Fox anchors citing a lot of their stories from Reuters, as well these days.

Actually, I think this story at the Independent is much more interesting... particularly the last two paragraphs.

Russian made cruise missles dated 2002.

Apparently, the DOD is backing off the story a bit, that they're not so sure it either has the chemicals or produces them or something. Nothing too clear except that the DOD is less confident that it does prove Iraq' WMDs. BTW, Fox is reporting this too...

PS, regarding one part of the Independent's report: We could roll out Saddam Hussein strapped to a VX warhead and Scott Ridder would say it's much ado about nothing.

That makes it a bit scarier. Thanks for the link.

Very interesting. I see much investigation ahead.

I would add that this is telling of the UN effort to "find WOMD":

The former weapons inspector Scott Ritter said the find was likely to be "much ado about nothing".

    Hmmm we shall see

I like how they don't headline the article as:

Soldiers find alleged huge chemical arms plant

... but instead put quotes around 'find huge chemical arms plant'

    Poor reporting.

The Russia link isn't surprising, but there will be some kind of foulup or a theft involved -- the Russian's didn't know they were selling them to Iraq for some reason or another, or they were reported "missing" from a Russia base, etc. They'll think of something.

What were finding out is that the biggest opponents to the war, France, Germany and Russia are in fact also the suppliers to the Iraqi army.

Doesn't surprise me, for some reason.

    Britain, too, though.

Plenty of backpedalling to begin soon.

Well, let's assume the article's correct, firstly ... if so, only two countries were mentioned - Russia and Britain.

I'm sure France supplied any and all white flags.

What's worrying, to me about the Britain mention is the following quote:

    Quote:

Some of the boxes were clearly marked with the names of British manufacturers.

    Manufacturers. Plural. \

Yeah, that's what I'm starting to suspect as well. Heh, no wonder they didn't want us going in there .

There's that story that France sold spare parts for fighter jets as well as some kind of dual use chemicals via China (if I remember) that can be used as rocket fuel. Russia seems to have sold some kind of GPS jammers and the tech's that train people how to use it as well.

Oh also there may be some Russian tank killing missiles there too.

I'm glad that Russia is selling weapons to iraq. Russia's getting rid of it's surplus military, and Iraq's getting 3rd rate components that won't stand up to any modern strike force. A couple years ago I was "presented" with an opportunity to buy a Ukrainian MiG-25, but I didn't have the money.

How cool would it be to have a MiG-25 parked in your front yard. . .

I thought I heard on the radio today a report that the US gov was filing a formal complaint to the Russian gov over weapons sold to Iraq. Conventional, though banned weapons thought to have been sold included RPG's, night vision equip and more. Wish i could find a link somewhere.
