if says they found them then that is clearly good!!

It goes a long long way toward legitimizing this even to the most hostile anti-Americans.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. forces near Baghdad found a weapons cache of around 20 medium-range missiles equipped with potent chemical weapons, the U.S. news station National Public Radio reported on Monday.

NPR, which attributed the report to a top official with the 1st Marine Division, said the rockets, BM-21 missiles, were equipped with sarin and mustard gas and were "ready to fire." It quoted the source as saying new U.S. intelligence data showed the chemicals were "not just trace elements."

It said the cache was discovered by Marines with the 101st Airborne Division, which was following up behind the Army after it seized Baghdad's international airport.

U.S. Central Command headquarters in Qatar had no immediate comment.

The United States and Britain launched the war against Iraq to rid the country of weapons of mass destruction. Iraq denies having such weapons.

until it's been confirmed, i don't believe anything. although it sounds like this is legit info, and it's NPR reporting it, not Fox or CNN.

like i said, i want the 5 day waiting period. otherwise i don't buy anything during 24 hour news rushes. too much push for the lastest and greatest news.

I'm curious about a story like this. If this target is so obvious, why wasn't it searched prior to the war?

I'm curious to see what they find. If there aren't WMD, I agree that Bush & Blair should be called on their bluff. If they DO find WMD at such an obvious and easy target that was known before the war, I'll be curious to know what the excuse is for not finding them in the first place.

    What?

All evidence points to the fact that Saddam DID give up most, if not all of his WOMD. Some may be found, but it's clear that there's no huge stockpile as Bush and Blair told the people. They were wrong. They should admit it and resign.

That is not clear. Until the war is over and the real search for the WOMD begins nothing you have said to this point makes any real difference. Be a bit more patient. Our guys over there are a bit busy dealing with Republican Guard and cannot take too much time to search for WOMD at the moment.

Ask Blix. He should have a good answer. Something like, "Who would have thought that WOMD would be found in a WOMD factory."

You don't know that. Besides 1441 didn't call for "mostly" disarming.

Yes, I'm sure they're both writing their retirement speeches as we speak.

    Also, what Scott said.

It didn't call for war either.

Yes. It said we'd call them names and withhold their pudding from them.

But we thought better and realized that might not be such a hot idea.

Then why quote it and rely on it for an argument if it's irrelevant?
